Magic Kaito
Spoiler:

KAITO æµ·æ–—, æµ·ç¿” (Japanese) From Japanese æµ· (kai) "sea, ocean" combined with æ–— (to), which refers to the constellation Ursa Major, or ç¿” (to) "soar, fly".
Kuroba: is a pun on the japanese pronunciation of "clover". That's why Kaito Kid has a little clover doodad hanging from his monocle.
The "Kaitou" (怪盗) in Kaitou Kid has a long "O". The "Kaito" (快斗) in Kuroba Kaito has a short "o". So, even though it's confusing in English, it's two different names, not inconsistent spelling.
And we all know that 1412 is a code to KID 8)
Kaitou means Thief
