Today's Bad Stories !

While biking down a hill, I noticed the bag I carried was about to slip down from my right shoulder.
I lost balance and tried to brake to stop slowly -- but I used the left brake which inhibits the front wheel. Due to the abrupt stop, I spinned over, doing a salto.

I was really lucky not to be seriously injured; my jeans and blazer are torn, and I have to get my bike repaired.

I think I nearly trod on a nest or something while going for a walk around the Loch. Upshot: SWANS. MAD SWANS OF DEATH AND MURDER AND RIPPING OUT YOUR THROAT.

Yesterday, the pilot in the plane said they had a little problem with the plane, they had to fix it or else, we would blow up in flight xD
in the end we had to change the plane, I feel so lucky to be alive!

Bad crisis management on part of the pilot.
Only worse case I know was one instance where the pilot himself refused to fly the plane due to a problem, and 15 minutes later came an announcement: "Sadly, we couldn't fix the problem. So, we now have a different pilot." :x
I didn't experience that myself, though, only read about it :x

driving to work today, glanced at the feet of the passenger seat, where I keep some paper towels and one or two other odds and ends, and notice that the paper towel is hideously yellow. When I get to work I grab it and it's super damp, and I end up realizing that my container of windex (vinegar :V) managed to get itself open and pour all over the carpet. Yaaaay :V

I mean, not a huge deal, but man now I need to get more paper towels and windex.

okay so my last appointment today rescheduled and the other optometrist was running behind on his appointments. So I tried to do the nice thing and help him see his second to last appointment for the day. You know, to save everyone time since I wasn't doing anything anyway. Then this lady had the gall to ask me to ask the other optom to check my results. Like I'm not qualified or I was wrong somehow. Lady, I did not suffer through 5 years of uni to be questioned on my prescription when you can see one line better than 6/6 with what I got (20/20 for you americans out there). And guess what? the other optom got the exact same prescription I did. Am I wrong to feel insulted here?

Edit: Thought I should point out we learn to get prescriptions by the end of second year. It is THAT basic.

Last night, for some reason after winning at poker, and having a few too many drinks, I thought I was okay to drive.  Fast forward to this morning,where I had to tow my car and bring it to Pep Boys and spend my afternoon there.

Also missing a foglight cover, and part of the that plastic rail at the very bottom of the car (i forget what its called) is kind of ripped.

I'm glad it wasn't any more severe like a DUI or i hurt myself or even worse hurt someone

I would feel insulted too, personally. So no, I don't think you're wrong to feel that way. That lady was just rude.

at my old apartment, we had a party once where the a friend's boss came and we got him to have a few drinks, when he was leaving we kept asking if he was good to drive and he was like "I'm sure"

the next day the friend asked him how he liked the party and his boss just replies "I don't even remember going home". Classy.

The damages really aren't too bad, I really shouldn't have drove, uggh.  I did have to pay a hefty sum to get the two tires replaced (300~).  The other things probably will accumulate to about under 100 with service charges.

It's more of the psychological impact - as someone who like, never has dreams, whenever I do something stupid, I tend to just keep thinking and dwelling on it, to the point where I would sometimes jerk in my sleep from a crazy "what if" scenario.  It eats me away tbh.
