Yeah, another case in the "RUM" Arc that seemingly is not related and has nothing to do with "RUM." I'm betting that we probably won't get to know RUM's true identity even after another 1000 cases. What's *new* in this file? Yet another murder and another word cipher... well, unless you consider "cipher" and "decipher" as RUM's interest... maybe he\she likes to play word puzzle games like professor Agasa? Maybe he\she was professor Agasa's colleague? Yawn...

Repeating the name of the arc doesn't change the name or genre of the series, rofl.blackmoon wrote:Yeah, another case in the "RUM" Arc that seemingly is not related and has nothing to do with "RUM." I hope that Sera's "do you remember me" has some deeper meaning, and was not there to show that ever Seta can talk. But if Shinichi really remembers that, for how long do You think he remembers that? Since the flashback scene, or maybe he already remembered it even before it? I ask, because I still have no idea how Conan managed to convince Akai to work with himself in the hospital during the Clash... arc, unless he already was aware that they already know each other and told that to Akai. But then again, if this is the truth, Akai wouldn't need to confirm Shinichi's identity back in the Cold case... unless he wanted to make sure if Conan back then really told him the truth.

I'm not quite sure whether you already think this, but to me, the "obvious" meaning of the conversation is that Sera was doubtful of who this Shinichi is, since she knows Conan is Shinichi and she didn't know that Shinichi can revert back to teenager form via the antidote. Her question "do you remember me?" was a test to see whether he really is Shinichi by getting him to recall their shared memory. I'm not too sure about Sera questioning the 10 years ago bit. Nevertheless I'm fairly certain that she thinks that Shinichi is really Shinichi and thus deduced the existence of the antidote. An alternate explanation although crazy...Nemomon wrote:I hope that Sera's "do you remember me" has some deeper meaning, and was not there to show that ever Seta can talk. She was questioning if they really met 10 years the last time they saw each other(which is her implying that she thinks they met recently).yourereadingthis wrote:I'm not too sure about Sera questioning the 10 years ago bit. Re: Discussion thread: Detective Conan 1000-10XX
Yeah, that's the point. It could be very hard and difficult to remember a single meeting that happened 10 years ago especially that back then they both were kids, and adults (or almost adults) barely remember their childhood. The most obvious and best answer should be "no, I don't remembet you, who are you again?". The answer "yes" is suspicious, because if that Shinichi would be an imposter, they would think that the original Shinichi met that girl a year or two ago in some other place, and since that girl asks about remembering me, confirming remembering would be the best bet. Another note woth mentioning is that Sera doesn't know Vermouth (and doesn't know that Conan and Kid are kinda allies in the movies that nota bene are not canon, therefore officially Kid doesn't that that the kid chasing him is Shinichi), so she doesn't know that out there there is a person that perfectly can mimic another person.yourereadingthis wrote:I'm not quite sure whether you already think this, but to me, the "obvious" meaning of the conversation is that Sera was doubtful of who this Shinichi is, since she knows Conan is Shinichi and she didn't know that Shinichi can revert back to teenager form via the antidote. Too bad this is too deep for DC, and as You say now Sera knows that there is a way to turn back to an adult form.

I'm still wondering why mary doesn't want masumi to trust shinchi yet and why she said " he's not the same boy we met 10 years ago"?. Perhaps she can sense that he is in a really bad predicament with the BO and she doesn't want to inflame both of their situations by involving him, still i hope masumi can talk to shinchi more about their past and the antidote.

I reckon she's slightly paranoid, but also thinks Conan has a recklessness about him, especially when it comes to taking down the B.O..jason342 wrote:I'm still wondering why mary doesn't want masumi to trust shinchi yet and why she said " he's not the same boy we met 10 years ago"?. Overall concerning Masumi and Mary, their story feels it has been artificially prolonged with the lack of progression e.g. still no conversation, at the very least, between Sera and Conan even though both of them know each other's true identities and want to have a meeting with Mary. Gosho also teased us with a another reason why Masumi calls Shinichi a wizard but I'm not having any high hopes for anything super significant.

File 1,001 is now out—all 16 pages of it. Wonder if this'll be happening as long as this case lasts—nearly a year ago, the Akai family flashback case bucked the trends of how spoilers usually came out, too.
Summary (from the Red Thread FaceBook page):
As for my thoughts on the development of the case...
Summary (from the Red Thread FaceBook page):
Spoiler:
Spoiler:
“Life is infinitely stranger than anything which the mind of man could invent. We would not dare to conceive the things which are really mere commonplaces of existence. If we could fly out of that window hand in hand, hover over this great city, gently remove the roofs, and and peep in at the queer things which are going on, the strange coincidences, the plannings, the cross-purposes, the wonderful chains of events, working through generations, and leading to the most outre results, it would make all fiction with its conventionalities and foreseen conclusions most stale and unprofitable.”
