We have a little plastic cover-thing that stays in our microwave that we put over food when we heat it up, so we don't have to deal with paper towels.  And just about EVERY FREAKING TIME I make soup, I'll take out the plastic thing, put it on top of the microwave, put the soup in the microwave, try and put the plastic thing on top of the soup but instead ram it into the side and spill soup everywhere. URRRGGHH

(And by "just about every freaking time" I mean about 3/5 the time..)

Have you tried putting the cover thingy on top of the container of soup you're heating up before you put it the microwave?

Another idea - insert the cover carefully. Even if you do collide with the bowl, it won't spill.

That is, unfortunately, a part of life.  Sometimes it doesn't really matter how much you know something's coming, it hurts when it comes either way.

If you don't like people, nom, you're perfect to work in an airport :x (I swear that airport people hate people even more than retail people hate people, and when you work in retail you learn to HATE people XDXDXDXDXDXD

They are just cranky.  Any type of service industry has some pretty ticked-off people.

The absolute worst in the States at least, is the DMV(Department of Motor Vehicles).  Everyone there hates their jobs.

I've tried everything, eventually called up Accommodation to ask if they had any ideas, but they said the University server has blocks against IRC chat programs because they're dangerous or some shit like that. Yahoo mail chat and Facebook chat slip through, chat-specific programs don't
