IT'S OVER, FOLKS!
THE BRAIN-FRYING RIDDLE #3
ANSWER PART 1 - Deductions
And now it's the time for the first part of the answer. This riddle proved to be very difficult - nothing less from the Kaitou KID & eworm combination, right? For starters, let's go through the contestants' deductions. There's 4 of them. Only four!! Damn it, Kaitou KID is less popular than I thought... Or maybe it's just this thread that needs advertising.
Here's the riddle again, as always:
Spoiler:
Image BRAIN-FRYING RIDDLE #3 Image
Be excited, brave detectives, for this time it's the ultimate combination of the wickedness of eworm and the awesomeness of our favourite phantom thief! That's right! The third Brain-Frying Riddle is a Kaitou KID's case! *click the button* Truly a challenge all the greatest detectives wait for! Prepare to meet your favourite characters once again!
Let me say that again – it is absolutely necessary for you to have read the previous riddles and the answers to them before even preparing to think about a possibility of trying to solve this riddle. Blame my love for continuity.

It has been two months since the last case. Kentaro Akito remains in the hospital, his condition getting better and better. Tsukamoto Keiko has been visiting him frequently and ― that was bound to happen ― they finally decided to start dating. But before that happens, we shall learn some more about Akito's osananajimi, Anegasaki Ryouko. Remember this tomboyish girl who's broke almost all the time? Prepare to be surprised by meeting her father, Anegasaki Yusuke, who's... very rich! What's the reason for Ryouko's trouble with money then? Well, the thing is the two don't like each other a lot. She doesn't agree with her father's obsession with money while he just can't stand her independence and stubbornness.

But now comes the time Ryouko visits him. She does that once every three months but always brings her friends for company. This time too – she brings Tanaka Shirou and Yoshimizu Outa with her, as always. As Akito's still in the hospital he couldn't come this time, but Ryouko invites Keiko instead. The visit at Yusuke's mansion starts as usual ― each of the guests get their own room, though they usually spend most of the time together. What Ryouko doesn't know is that her father received a familiar looking notice with even more familiar picture on it.
"Prepare to meet me at the night of the next full moon, for that's when I'll be taking your most precious treasure. ~Kaitou KID"
While Yusuke tries to figure out which of his three most precious jewels – "Sunset Ruby", "Midnight Sapphire" or "Tropical Emerald" - KID is going to steal, his daughter waits impatiently. Shirou seems as excited as she is, while Outa looks indifferent and calm as always. Keiko is in awe of Ryouko's father's mansion though she seems to feel quite uncomfortable here. Being bored out of their skulls they play bridge, hugging version of “spin the bottle” and share short riddles.

The next day inspector Nakamori arrives in the morning. With his big experience he confirms authenticity of the note. Along with Yusuke, Ryouko and the rest, he goes around the mansion. Suddenly they find the second notice from KID on the door of Yusuke's office. It has a red rose attached.
The thief you're eagerly waiting for is already here! Wish him luck! ~Kaitou KID
Everybody's reactions differ. Nakamori says that the note, even though different from the previous one – it has different font, letters size and words' arrangement on the paper – is without a doubt KID's. He wants to pinch everybody's faces, but Ryouko doesn't allow him to touch either her or her friends. Outa starts laughing heartily, which is a totally unexpected reaction coming from him. Keiko seems to be lost in thought, she's been like that the whole day. Shirou doesn't hide his excitement and openly cheers for the thief. This infuriates Yusuke and he start pinching their faces, starting with his own daughter's. No mask comes off but before he does anything else, Outa slaps him in the face, calling him “sick bastard”. Ryouko runs off to her room, seeming to be about to cry. Outa and Shirou follow her, while shocked Yusuke proceeds to the room with the jewels to check on them.

After that Yusuke discovers none of the jewels are missing... yet? Keiko visits Outa's room, but he's not there. She goes to comfort Ryouko and after just a while Outa and Shirou come. Outa wants to say something... and he's holding the red rose KID attached to his second notice...

Want more info, don't you? Here it is – in a new form. Let me introduce to you the Characters' Hints!

Ryouko: “I hate my dad... Though I'm surprised Outa slapped him like that!”
Shirou: “Hey, Outa, you never cared about KID's cases, right? Have you had a change of mind?”
Keiko: “There's something suspicious about one of us...”
Outa: “I really wish for this bastard's most precious treasure to be stolen!”
Yusuke: “For certain the three jewels are my most precious possessions!”
Nakamori: “KID is a coward – sending his notice so late”.
Kaitou KID: “There's somebody who already knows my identity... but no fear, I have a plan!”

With this you should be able to deduce what is going on in the mansion and why. Who is KID disguised as? What is he going to steal? What's this suspicious thing Keiko mentions? Is she the person who knows about KID's identity or is it someone different? What is Outa going to say right now and what does it have to do with the rose? How is KID going to escape? Your deduction should answer all these questions and more!
And here are the contestants' deductions:
Spoiler:
Update May 12th 2014 ― something happened to the post and I lost the deductions :( Sorry...

Why am I the only one giving out my thoughts on every deduction.
I always put so much effort in them.

Come on you can at least write down your thoughts and present them to us.
It's always fun ;) ;)

THE BRAIN-FRYING RIDDLE #3
ANSWER PART 2 - The Truth

Sorry for the delay. Well, as this riddle's the biggest and most difficult ever, this time's deduction is the longest so far too.

Here's the riddle again:
Spoiler:
Image   BRAIN-FRYING RIDDLE #3   Image
Be excited, brave detectives, for this time it's the ultimate combination of the wickedness of eworm and the awesomeness of our favourite phantom thief! That's right! Is she the person who knows about KID's identity or is it someone different? What is Outa going to say right now and what does it have to do with the rose? How is KID going to escape? Your deduction should answer all these questions and more!

And now, for the answer!
Spoiler:
The whole case began with KID's notice, so let us start with it too. It is pretty weird for KID both to send a notice so late – just one day before the announced date – and to write something so vague like “your most precious treasure” in it. Doesn't he usually announce what object he chose to steal? Poor Yusuke is worrying about his three jewels at the same time now! What could be the reason for him to write something like that?

First possibility: Yusuke actually has some jewel that's worth more than “Sunset Ruby”, “Midnight Sapphire” and “Tropical Emerald”. But how could KID know about it even though Yusuke himself doesn't? Impossible. Then maybe Yusuke knows about the treasure but doesn't reveal it to anybody – even inspector Nakamori? No, in that case wouldn't he hurry to the room with this treasure after seeing the second notice? Yet he ran to check on the three jewels immediately. He even says it clearly in Character's Hints – the three jewels are his most precious possessions.

Second option: the notice is false and it's been written by somebody impersonating KID. Is it possible? Certainly – but then again only if inspector Nakamori is lying. He confirmed the notice was real. If it's not, he could only be KID in disguise, for some reason playing along with the imposter. Maybe he wants to clear his name? But then there's a problem – the whole thing wasn't made public. How could KID even know about the imposter arriving in Anegasaki's mansion? It seems very improbable.

Finally the third option: it is not Yusuke the note was addressed to. Absurd you say? Okay then, but nevertheless let's think about it for a second. If we imagine a person, let's call them X, who's KID's true planned victim, everything starts to make sense. If X has one jewel worth much more then the rest of their possessions, it's not unlikely to send them a notice mentioning “the most precious treasure”. It would be obvious what it is anyway. Also, if X forwards the received notice to Yusuke it's logical it arrived later. And since KID could observe his victim, it's not unlikely to think he got to know about the trip to Anegasaki's mansion.

So we have a new mystery. Aside from KID, there's his imposter, X, lurking in the shadows. We should probably figure out the reason why X send the KID's notice to Yusuke. Does X want to steal something from Yusuke and make it seem like it's KID? But sending a notice would just make police arrive – and with KID everybody's a suspect. It's the worst one can do while trying to steal something. And one more thing – Yusuke has three jewels worth about the same. He doesn't have one “most precious treasure”... Or does he?

We know KID is interested only in jewels but we have no idea about the imposter's way of thinking. Since they seem to not care whether there are policemen in the mansion, it's probable the “stealing” X plans is not just your average theft. If we think differently we'll easily realise that Yusuke's “most precious treasure” is without a doubt... his daughter, Ryouko! Could it be X wants to propose to her and therefore “steal” her from her parent? We're getting closer to the truth.

We can now easily eliminate a lot of people from the suspicion of being X. Nakamori, Yusuke, Ryouko, Keiko... The only people left are Outa and Shirou. It is not difficult to pinpoint X – Outa's acting out of character and he slapped Yusuke for pinching Ryouko's face. It's likely he's in love with her. His laugh after seeing the second notice of KID? It's easy to understand now – he learned KID had actually come to the mansion after him! And what do you know? The most famous phantom thief is wishing him luck with his proposal! “The thief is here”, KID says, this time not about himself. “Wish him luck” actually means “I wish him luck” or “Let's wish him luck!”.

What? You say it could have been Outa who wrote the second notice? Nonsense. Remember it was different from the previous one and the best Outa – who never cared about KID and doesn't know much about him – could possibly do was imitating the one he received before.

Okay then, we have this thing cleared up – but who is KID and who is it that knows his identity? We know it's not Outa – who's X – or Ryouko – her face was pinched and no mask came off. KID being Keiko is pretty unlikely. Shirou and Outa always visited the mansion with Ryouko – the fact KID could learn about and make use of – but Keiko was invited on a spur of a moment, unexpectedly. Even KID couldn't predict that. It's unlikely for Yusuke to be KID too. Let's not forget KID is a gentleman, he would never hurt a woman – and pinching a woman's face while pretending to be her father (who should know his own daughter good enough to know without this) is definitely something only the lowest jerks would do. Besides KID wouldn't want to get rid of the possible suspects.

That leaves us with Shirou and inspector Nakamori. Note that we use the facts only Outa knows, so if we manage to eliminate one more person we'll realise who KID is – the same way Outa could realise. That will mean it's Outa who knows about KID's identity. Can we be sure who KID is with this info? No, we can't.

And yet there is somebody in the mansion that knows who KID is disguised as – he said that himself. If not Outa, who can it be? And it's right now that we remember Keiko's words: “there's something suspicious about one of us”... Is she the one who discovered KID's identity? Let's think about it.

We know a bit about Keiko's behaviour. She was deep in thought the whole day. Either something happened in the morning or the day before, in the evening. Something that started to make her feel uneasy, possibly suspicious. What could it have been? Hard to say but what about the games they played? There's nothing really we can say about bridge or the riddles they were giving each other. What about the “spin the bottle” game, a “hugging” version? It's safe to say Keiko and KID could have hug during the game – if KID was Shirou, of course. But how could Keiko feel it's in fact KID? We know nothing about Shirou's posture, so we can't say KID made a bad disguise. Besides would Keiko actually know how hugging Shirou feels like? She knows him for two months, has a boyfriend now and is not very outgoing – as seen in the second riddle.

Even if Keiko hugged Shirou-KID, she wouldn't consider him suspicious. Difficult, huh? What if we spin everything around and think about the person who was acting the most suspicious? Well, it's Outa, no doubt, right? Keiko went to his room after. Might his actions after the second notice's appearing confirm her suspicions? Suspicions she had even before that? Suspicions she had because of the hugging game... Wait a second there...

Do you get it now? How could hugging Outa make Keiko suspicious about him? How could hugging this heavy smoker make Keiko suspicious? That's right. It's not unlikely that Outa has been holding back from smoking in Ryouko's father's mansion. He loves her and plans to confess – he wouldn't want to smell, as simple as that.

Keiko doesn't know about it though. After realising Outa doesn't reek of smoke and that he hadn't smoked once during their whole stay – she would found it suspicious. Shirou and Ryouko might have noticed that too, but maybe they didn't give it much thought or they were too excited over KID. Either way the person Keiko is suspicious of seems to be Outa, but here's the problem – we already know he's not Kaitou KID. Keiko is wrong. The person who knows about KID's disguise is someone different. Who?

Well, let's go back to Outa. He's the best informed person here and with information he has the list of suspects was reduced to just two people – Nakamori and Shirou. And yet... is there a way to deduce which one of them is KID?

No, there isn't – but whoever said deduction is the only way Outa could've learned that? We know KID doesn't worry about somebody knowing his identity. We know he's rooting for Outa's love. We know he has a plan of sort. Now let us put two and two together – KID is going to get Outa's help in order to escape from the mansion!

Now it becomes quite simple. When Keiko visited Outa in his room after the incident with Yusuke, he wasn't there. He was probably talking with KID – and then he came back with Shirou. Also, why would KID disguised as inspector Nakamori need any help escaping? It's far more probable he was disguised as one of the possible suspects. It was obvious police would eventually pinch their faces.

And so we know the truth now. Tsukamoto Keiko was wrong with her suspicions of Yoshimizu Outa being Kaitou KID, because it was Tanaka Shirou who KID disguised himself as this time! He was going to steal nothing from Anegasaki Yusuke – it was Outa who he aimed at! And yet he appeared in the mansion in order to reveal the fact it was an imposter's doing and also to support Outa's love for Anegasaki Ryouko. He escaped with a little help of Outa, leaving inspector Nakamori Ginzo unable even to arrest Outa – for this time KID didn't even steal anything.

Wait, what? He didn't? What about the whatever-it-is Outa's treasure? Well... When Outa came back to his house, the following note was in his mailbox:
That's a powerful defense you've got there, you Freaky Fish Guy.
I'm not stealing anything from you! ~Kaitou KID

Yes, the riddles are too long for some people to want to even read them... And the thread's not popular enough. Truly unfortunate. Anybody knows how to get people to visit? Other than us all making signature invitations?

It was cool, however I don't think there was enough information given to correctly solve this puzzle.
Spoiler:
Without telling us that Outa had a jewel worth stealing, there was no real way we could surmise that he would have been threatened by KID.  Also, I can't see why KID would bother making the two messages distinctly different.  Since we weren't given a reason why KID would use two different message styles, it makes more sense to believe that one of the two is a forgery and that Nakamori is lying.

I think, with the given information, any of our answers could have been correct (except Akonyl's), and it would help the riddles in the future if there were one and only one possible answer based on the information provided.
