being a fan of Artemis Fowl I know how badass Fairies can be.mangaluva wrote:Being a big fan of fairy stories as a kid (the old kind of fairy stories, the ones with entrails), I really like that fairy types are a thing now. So what if a lot of them are really girly? There's nothing wrong with being girls. Girls are badass. We will kill your dragons with flowers and dance on your corpses.
(Not that I don't love dragons too. I'm just sick of people calling fairies "girly" like that's some kind of negative.)

I don't mind the new fairy-type, but it does hinder my favorite - Lucario. I have found it necessary to have a fairy-type with me at all times, though, since I frequently use dragons/dark/fighting-type pokemon.

Hmm, interesting. I don't usually use bullet punch, as I usually prefer to have special moves on Lucario, but I might try that...

I try to keep away from ubers, but yeah, mega lucario decimates xD (hence the smogon ban ^^;) I will use it when I'm not playing real people sometimes for fun thoughFateAkemi05 wrote:especially if you are running mega lucario.
Get a swords dance up and bullet punch hits pretty hard even non-mega on fairies though. and who doesn't love +1 priority?
it's base attack is only 5 points lower, so it's perfectly viable either way (especially since it gets swords dance)Commi-Ninja wrote:Hmm, interesting. I don't usually use bullet punch, as I usually prefer to have special moves on Lucario, but I might try that...

Re: Pokemon!
by the way here is another question: Do you guys have certain rule when creating a team?
I have one and it is:
there must NOT be any shared types.
Must have ONLY one mega.
must have a starter pokemon.

Re: Pokemon!
I don't really, besides general rules (no duplicate species, items) though I guess I just use things I like. I don't like to use something just because it's good =x
for my playthroughs there's really no rhyme or reason to what I use xD

General team-building, Eko, not Nuzlocke rules.
The only reason my team usually has a starter in it is because I usually don't switch Pokemon out of my team until I beat the game...

Re: Pokemon!
those are team-building rules xD via smogon anyway. I don't battle competitively but I build my team to be smogon-legal, just for funsiesaly_angelflight wrote:General team-building, Eko, not Nuzlocke rules.
I do whatever for in-game teams though. In x for instance, I had a crippling rock weakness because half the pokemon I liked got smashed by it xD
So if we're talking about in-game rules for ourselves, no, I don't have any

Mega Lucario is great with any attacking moveset, you have options to hit anything. I also prefer Lucario with special moves, but I never had one and will never train one :V

Re: Pokemon!
I have a question for you all... what do you think about X and Y rivals? Do you like them or hate them? I guess I kinda like them and I really like what one youtube commenters wrote about them: "
This might be my favorite set of rivals in the series. No, they aren't as challenging, intense, or brilliant as other rivals. But I believe each of the characters you battle in X and Y represent all the wonderful aspects in Pokémon beautifully.
Tierno: He represents the different ways to enjoy Pokémon. His personality doesn't make him out to be a fighter, he just wants to play with Pokémon. He represents all the wonderful things outside of battling that you can do with Pokémon such as the Pokeathelon and Pokémon Contests.
Trevor: Trevor demonstrates the knowledge of Pokémon. He is most interested in the origins and lore of the world he lives in, and while he is a competent battler, his focus has always been in knowing more about the creatures that inhabit that strange little world. He represents players that go on extensive journeys to complete the Pokedex.
Shauna: She is definitely the heart of Pokémon. The definitive experience, Shauna is all about the love and enjoyment of her Pokémon. The journey is most important to her and she couldn't care less about anything else. She represents players who don't play the game for the battling exclusively: The people who are more interested in the journey and emotional connection of Pokémon.
Serena/Calem: With only one aspect of Pokémon not covered, and the character's determination to out due the player character, it's fairly obvious that Serena/Calem are a perfect representation of competitive Pokémon. They want to be the very best and work their damnedest to get there, but they still have a love for the experience and their Pokémon. But their heart is in the sport! They want to overcome obstacles and surpass rivals!
In the end, I think I liked these characters as rivals cause they really were the whole package. It was a love letter to all types of Pokémon fans. And as much as I love Blue, Silver, and Hugh, I think what this group of kids mean to much to the franchise as a whole to not at least leave an impact. At least that's my take on it all.
