Meaning is up to the listener but it deals with two individuals, a female and male. The female is scarred emotionally and feels like trash to the point she is contemplating of doing something she would never usually do that could also be considered a small crime( not sure myself but it hints at her being with someone when she wants to be with someone else, possibly someone she can't be with aka cheating). The male is already in a relationship and is full aware he is cheating on his partner, feels like trash himself for doing so, but cannot stop until he finds the scarred female.

It seems that his cheating was him unknowingly seeking another partner that would understand him and help him heal his pain(I have no idea what it could be), something his current partner cannot do or won't do. Though it's the wrong time for him to be with another girl, he feels this new girl is what he needs because in the end they both are two individuals with scarred hearts that can only heal each other. They find happiness shortly but reality sets in and takes away their happiness. Because, perhaps they were never meant to be together. Cruel cruel kids world.
