We could be talking about different scenes but I think that was M7. He checks out a girl passing by with her stomach exposed then tells Ran not to sleep with her stomach exposed because she'll catch a cold....I still don't get that joke.

But anyway, Shinichi is a young guy and therefore should have a general taste in girls..unless he's thinking about marriage already.

I think he's already thinking about marriage. I mean, DC is the first show I watched where a guy stuck to one girl. Granted that the other shows with teenagers that I watch have different cultures, but still...

Also, let's not forget that rumor in the Desperate Revival arc: That he brought her to the restaurant to propose marriage.

I think Ran is the culprit here. Shinichi can't confess because of his situation but he did show he was willing to take a risk with an unstable antidote unlike Ran who has all the opportunities. Ran has already seen Sonoko confess to Makoto and their relationship started much later. She's also seen Takagi+Sato form but hasn't been straight forward with Shinichi about her feelings.

I'm thinking it has something to due with traditional Japanese culture though. You know, the girl is never the aggressor and they never confess, even if they are sure the guy likes them, because their feelings could become a "burden" to the guy who isn't ready. Stuff like that.

Wait! Assuming Fumiko started running after being turned down, how did Takashi get to the final locating before her? She must of been running at least 12mph and then was propelled to at least 30mph, while heading in a direct line. It is impossible for Takashi to be at that location during the interval Fumiko arrived!....unless it was his Twin!
This is a great animation by the way.
This student should see in getting a 13 episode anime out of this concept alone....it's already better than a lot of the animes out now , and the different art style doesn't hurt it.

I take it back, they're BOTH slow.  I've seen a similar scenario(s?) in Bokura ga ita as well when I stalked my sis when she was watching. Honestly, what is it with them and confessions?!? They take forever before they tell each other their feelings!

Well, also Ran is the only girl that "ironically" shows "too much skin" when she's around him....like breasts and carrying on...but remember in some other episodes he's blushed around other women with "bodies". He's a teenager. As long as he is, marriage will be a slow, arduous process.

Usually the women want it more than the man....

I think the only reason he's taking her feelings seriously is because she's the only one of the girls who confessed her feelings....

Dude, I manage to break in my classroom using a piece of paper, cut class (or at least escape the programs), and hit people who annoy me with my shoes. And guys STILL  annoy me with their fanboy ways. Bottomline? Guys will still like a girl even if she isn't the traditional nice girl.
