Kenmochi the murderer case files part 4
Okay so, the case ended quite abruptly.. My thoughts... The explanation was straight up terrible. Takato redeemed it a bit in my mind, simply because of someone else having a hand in this case, however him knowing this stuff and he wasn't even foreshadowed to have anything to do with this case anywhere in the episodes makes me just think it's "whatever".
Why was it bad? Because this case was good, had a nice setting and the case got 4 episodes... But was solvable since the very first episode. Them making Busujima the ONLY culprit, when there were alot of chances to make the REAL culprit someone else, while Busujima could have been just the accomplice, doesn't really work and makes this feel kind of draggy.

The only reasons this case is my favourite of this season is because it's related to Kenmochis past (despite the fact that Kenmochi was useless in this case and everything related to his situation was highly predictable), and the setting of the case felt like it had a nice amount of freedom, it wasn't just some manor case in a place where they can't escape the killer, while it wasn't so over-the-top ridicilous like in the first 5 episodes, the kowloon case.

It's disappointing overall. Takato being the mastermind does make sense considering Busujima being such a Fail, but it's still the same non-foreshadowed appearance that's supposed to look like a twist like during the Alchemy case with the gentleman thief (who's a female). Nice ride overall, I highly enjoyed it, but in the end it only managed to pull some wool over the casual watchers eyes by giving a "feelz" flashback for the culprit, which was nice, but I wanted something like... Good writing...

Spoiler:
Case cast:
Togami Marina-v1, 3 years ago
Togami Erina-v1's sister
Komori Ryousuke-Lawyer, unknown history
Aoi Keiji-v1's bf, currently in the PD
Busujima Riku-c1
Tamaki Takumi-c2, deceased recently
Uozaki Youhei-c3, deceased recently

*A certain case happened three years ago.
It was an abhorrent act of extreme cruelty. The People involved with the victim of that particular case were left with helpless frustration.
But now, three years later, the three young men who committed the crime are being killed off one by one.
From the weapon left at the scene of the crime and the fingerprints, Inspector Kenmochi became a wanted felon."

The story continues from Kenmochi getting arrested, and being sent to hospital. The same hospital at where Busujima (c1) is at, no less. At next night, Kenmochi wakes up to a fire alarm sound and sees Busujima trying to get away from the hospital also on the hallways of the hospital. What will happen from now on?

>A fierce battle between Kenmochi and Busujima is going on in the PD-Hospital, where at night, Kenmochi is fighting with Busujima and one of them is holding a knife. Kenmochi is shouting about not letting Busujima kill him. I can see where this is going. Busujima is probably trying to play this off as self-defense by killing off Kenmochi.
>Aoi Keiji appears from the corner with gun in his hand. I believe Keiji is the real culprit of this case alongside Busujima, so maybe he wants to kill Busujima here.
Indeed it seems like Busujima was the one with the knife. And things went as I expected with this.

Kindaichi: "Let me explain, then.
The Executioner, who pretended to be a target and murdered his former friends...
Is you... Busujima Riku!" ;Hopefully this won't turn out to be a lackluster explanation. I knew this since episode 1, someone else needs to be part of the murders here.
>Busujima hanged himself.
>Busujima did indeed use the carpet as a platform, and kicked it back to how it was earlier with his feet. That's not realistic at all... Did the writers even try this out? The carpet is bound to be mad heavy, and we didn't even know what it was made from. Kindaichi took the keys but be never saw him investigate!
>"You cleaned the floor so no one would notice if the carpet had been moved."
>Busujima did indeed drug Kenmochi and kidnap him from drinking that water.
Busujima: "I wouldn't have known that Kenmochi would drink the water.
Akechi: "No, you did know. That's why you purposefully chose a hot day for your conversation, and a coffee shop that's only accessible by foot from a train station. Then you left the shop right after he drank the water. Shortly afterwards, the drug made Inspector Kenmochi sleepy and you held him captive in this building didn't you? As a finishing touch, you shot yourself with his stolen gun."
For Tamaki's murder, you planted and incendiary device in the place where the lawyer, Komori, always parked his car. You left behind the remote control which had inspectors fingerprints on it. Otherwise, you disguised yourself as for surveillance cameras, sent yourself threatening texts, and pretended you were being kidnapped while on the phone.
>Busujima is denying the claims, and asks for proof.
The evidence is just a single word, a slip-up he blurted out without thinking. Apparently. Hopefully not about the documents.
Hmm apparently the evidence has something to do with Tamakis death.
"When Tamaki was killed, you weren't near the scene, at Fudou High, were you?"
He obviously denies.
When Busujima called the Police department and claimed he was being chased by someone like Kenmochi:
"I escaped into a building, but got a threatening text like last time! He's gonna kill me! He's gonna kill me! Like with the other guys!"

>Apparently he made a slip-up by saying he knew Tamaki was dead also. Wow. Busujima planned this out and made a slip-up like that. It's the usual "we didn't release this info to the public, until!"-plot. Really now...

The trick used to kill Uozaki Youhei, the Drowning-phone call-trick:
-Put the pulp of the phone over your phone and give it a call. The pulp goes in place apparently, and the phone drops into the bathtub.

>Lawyer Komori drops to his knees and has something to confess, the little girl I guess...
>Komori says he destroyed some letter Busujima gave him...
>The Lawyer Komori states that the real culprits from 3 years ago were Tamaki and Uozaki, and they got Busujima involved apparently and they also made him the main perp of the case for no reason? Expected as much.
>Aoi Keiji snaps, and says that can't be true because the crime took place in Busujimas apartment .
>Busujima says he was in love with Togami Marina. This is probably true because she went missing for a month and sent a text message about wanting to break up.

OK, so, Busujima confesses to killing Tamaki and Uozaki...
Busujima's explanation on how things unfolded 3 years ago:
"My family runs a small medical equipment company and I often delivered orders for Tamaki's family's hospital. Those two were always askin' for favors. Tamaki and Uozaki asked me to let them use the apartment that my father rent out to me." Busujima lent out the key to the apartment.
>Busujima wanted to become doctor in order to help his father, he went to a coffee restaurant during days in order to get some studying done, and that's when he met Togami Marina.
Togami Marina: "Busujima-kun? You're studying? How admirable! You give out this bad-boy image, but your grades have always been good, huh?" *Some filler talk about meeting Marina.
Busujima(current): "I was a pariah to everyone but Togami, who was nice to me." *Friendzone to the max.
>For a buffet ice cream that Marina gave him, he gave a present that he just bought to her in return.
>During the restaurant scene where Marina and Busujima talk, Uozaki and Tamaki are behind the window outside the restaurant.
"After that scene Marina suddently stopped coming to school and she vanished from her job. At first I thought she was just sick, but a month passed before I found out. And then.. I finally went to the apartment. But they played innocent with Togami hidden away. When I left the apartment, that was when Marina tried to escape out of the window... And she fell to her death."

Busujima kicks the shit out of Tamaki after seeing Marinas body.
>Tamaki talked Busujima into hiding Marinas body or they would have become accomplices anyway.
>Kenmochi punches Busujima and all that.

The reason why Lawyer Komori got rid of Busujimas letter was because of her daughter:
"At the time, my daughter had a serious illness. I needed Director Tamaki's recommendation for her to have surgery. So, valuing my daughter's life, I crumpled up my integrity as a alawyer along with the letter.

Kindaichi asks Busujima to tell him one last thing, and that is............. About the man who proposed this criminal plan to him, apparently, Takato?

It seems like The reason why Busujima was a fail, yet made this plan up, was that someone else made the plan up for him; Takato Yoichi.

-Ending credits roll in pretty much and the epilogue about Busujima and everyone with the case happens.
Next episode looks like a horror slasher case, and it also seems to be the last case of the Return series.

So I think one of the police detectives is voiced by Takagi. I better be right, because that is too awesome to not be true.

You're right. I noticed it in like the second episode of that last case and thought it was absolutely hilarious.

Promo for season 2, seems like it will start with a hong kong case once again. Kind of annoying to be honest. Why would they start first and second season in almost the same way...

We finally have the Rosenkreuz-Arc now in the anime. Well looks like no Takatou-Flashback in the Anime, and I guessed it would be at the end of the season...
