A Day In The by Merlin Missy (mtgat)
Discworld fic.
Summary: This is the first day of the rest of Death's life.
The Flexible Concept of Tomorrow by finisterre
X-Files/DW crossover (mainly Mulder and Donna though)
How a Resurrection Really Feels by idella
X-Files fic. Immortal!Scully. Character death warning.
Summary: Post-Tithonus AU. Experimental living.
may your path be the sound by magneticwave
Teen Wolf fic.
Summary: This may make Melissa a terrible mother, but things were so much easier when Scott and Stiles were unpopular and spent their weekends on either her or John’s couch, playing Mario Kart and talking about all of the stuff they were never going to be cool enough to do. Scott and Stiles’ weekends now mostly involve blood and Derek Hale.
A 62-Day Study of the Human Grieving Process by sloanesomething
Star Trek: The Next Generation fic. Canonical death.
Summary: Data, after Tasha's death
EDITED because the formatting - or lack of - was irritating me.

Necro'ing because Star Trek: AOS fic recs.
Leave No Soul Behind by whochick
Summary: If you're Starfleet, you spend your whole life wishing you never see an EPAS uniform right up until the moment they become your only hope. Whether you're dying a slow, cold death in space, or a long painful one on some godforsaken planet, they're going to come for you. So count your last breaths, son, and hold on tight. They leave no soul behind.
^I should warn you that the above is epic length (as in, I had very little else to do whilst I was reading it and it still took me around two days to complete) but as it's pretty much my favourite AU out of all the Star Trek fics I've read I would say it's definitely worth it. I mean, it's not flawless, but what is?
With My Feet Toward the Stars (let me remember you as you were when you existed) by kariye
Summary: At age five, Spock informs his mother that it is illogical to wish him “sweet dreams” at bedtime because Vulcans do not dream. “Oh, Spock,” she says.
^ Spock's voice on this is really well done and this vibes to me in a similar to some of the magical realism fics I've read (well, to be specific, the main one that came to mind was, "they tell me your secrets (will you tell me yours too)" by etothepii. Have I recc'd that yet? Pretty much everything I've read by etothepii should be recc'd IMO) and it's surprising how fitting that is.
For Gladness Of You by kariye
Summary: In which shit goes down in no particular order: Jim almost starts a war, Spock gets tortured, Jim gets kidnapped, Jim gets tortured, Spock gets not-quite-kidnapped, Jim takes the Enterprise joyriding, and mysterious Vulcans with their even more mysterious leader hop a ride for a few weeks. But that’s not what the story’s about. It’s about this: Jim was always going to fall in love with Spock – boldly, recklessly. He just didn’t expect to stay that way. A story about getting over all that.
^I have to admit that usually I wouldn't rec this because of how PWP-y it gets at times (and I can't vouch for the quality of those scenes FYI given I'm fairly sure I skipped all of them), but the narrative style (IDEK if that's the best way to describe it but eh) is so good and it just keeps cycling through the events until you eventually understand what's going on. Maybe the best way to explain is to quote the author themself:
"I think usually we, the readers, know something that the characters don't; here, the characters know things we don't, because the fic isn't told in chronologically order. So things that we don't find out about until later have already happened, but by telling it all in circles, the emphasis of those events is changed entirely, deliberately."
And have a random Madoka fic.
Some Rainy Nights by ncfan
Summary: "I wish I had children."
^Spoilers up to around episode eight or nine.
EDIT:
Haruhi fic.
The Coin by Muphrid
Summary: In which the ever-enthusiastic brigade chief realizes her powers... thanks to the high price of a can of Coca-Cola.
And another Madoka fic. I wasn't sure whether to rec this for a while because it's sometimes a bit... idk how to explain, sorry. But anyway, I eventually decided to just put it here because the worldbuilding is amazing and it can be read for that alone tbh.
To The Stars by Hieronym
Summary: Kyubey promised that humanity will reach the stars one day. The Incubator tactfully refrained from saying too much about what they would find there.
