*puts out her thoughts* OVA 4. I didn't like MK 11 as much and it wasn't because Conan wasn't in it. I think it was partly because of the voices of Phillip and his mother; something felt off. :X

The third episode was nicely done, and definitely the most interesting so far (possibly/doubtlessly due to it being a new adaptation).

I liked this episode (and its original file's story). It depicts Kaito as sort of a "rogue hero" quite well, and gives a nice contrast between what Kaito's like as a protagonist, and what Conan's like as a protagonist.

The third episode was pretty funny..and not always in the right way

Still, it was entertaining enough. I think my problem with Magic Kaito 1412 right now is not the source material, which I find perfectly fine, but A-1 Pictures, who IMO so far are not doing a very good job of adapting the manga. Awkward editing is a big problem in every episode, and the odd art doesn't help either. I hope it gets better as they get a better grasp on the series. And of course, I'll watch no matter what, because I like the source material and because I've been waiting for a real Kaito Kid anime for a long time.

Also, at this point I'm going to have to say the specials were better. Hopefully I'm proven wrong though.

Seen the 2nd and 3rd episode. While the 1st episode was just a crap, the 2nd and 3rd eps were much better. The new adaptation of the Blue B-Day was better than the one in the old anime, I think. The third episode indeed was quite interesing, I loved how Kaito acted like a wolf. Full of himself, and slightly malicious to the others. And the animation of the 3rd episode was great.

After the first episode I didn't want to watch this show. But the 2nd and 3rd eps bought me. At least for now.

After watching episode 4, it definitly is the worst animation I've ever seen in anime

Decent introduction episode for Hakuba. I somewhat didn't really like this episode, though. Maybe adapting two different heists into one episode was a bit too much.
I think I'll have to agree with those who are unhappy over this Hakuba. Either Mamoru Miyano is horrible as Hakuba, or the director wanted Hakuba to be Hakuba times eleven. I just felt the portrayal was a bit over the top.

Hopefully Akako will be handled better...

It felt a lot more like original Kaitou Kid manga Hakuba to me. Both Anime adaptations compressed the Statue jewel heist into about half an episode. The tv Special version was limited to 12 episodes and wanted to introduce an Original character and spent a lot of there version of the episode to focus on Spider. This version actually did two of the VS Hakuba chapters in one episode that were back to back in the manga. I'm kind of interested to see what they do with the third VS Hakuba chapter, they just have to introduce Akako first.

Actually I'm kind of confused as to why they introduced Hakuba so early, even before Akako. In the manga Akako appears 3 different times (ch6,7,10) before Hakuba is introduced. Then Hakuba is around for three chapters straight (ch15-17) , and then disappears back to Europe until later when he makes a cameo phone call appearance (ch25), then returning to Japan (ch27). I wonder if introducing him this early means they plan to do some Anime original heists between Kaitou and Hakuba ?

Hopefully they will try to do 1 chapter adaptation for Akako. The tv Specials tried to fuse her chapter 6 and chapter 10 appearances in a way that erased the heist from chapter 6 which had Nakamori using Saimin gas (before Hakuba used it ch16)
