There's a new anime called "Kaitou Joker" about a phantom thief using magic trick to steal stuff. I've watched the first episode, it's reaaaaaly similar to MK.

It has much better art though.

It's for a much younger audience and it's got a bunch of comic relief, but it's not bad so far :V

Lol the plagiarism is strong in Kaito Joker but atleast it gave me a laugh or two.

I've seen the episode now... It wasn't a catastrophy but it wasn't remarkably good either. Some of the plot adjustations were great and understandable, like the jukebox, being neighbours and tossing the cards, while some were... were... I dunno. Rollercoaster? Seriously? What's the point with the cane-cape-glider? And what the heck is wrong the Jii's head?!

It looks like the episode count (stated to be 24) has been taken off the English version of the YTV catalogue. Does this mean there might be less episodes?

It did 6.6% for its premiere coming 4th in the rankings which is very decent (Conan did 11.5%). Kindaichi got a 5.3% for its first episode in the same time-slot. Now to wait and see if the trend will be downward, upward or stable.

Kaito doesn't lool like Kaito... Aoko too...

I'm afraid, I'm not sure if I want to watch this series... especially that it seems they're going to remake all the episodes of the old series.

Even if it's bad, I'll watch it. It's a Magic Kaito anime, I'm gonna watch it. I think I would only refuse to watch it if it was live action or incredibly boring (and based on the amount of 1 episode AOs I've seen, even that's arguable )

I think I will continue watching this too. Sooner or later I will habit to how stupidly Kaito's face looks like.

But the first episode didn't buy me.
