As an original work, the anime will have scenes of Kid in Detective Conan but from the perspective of Kid himself.

This is definitely a nice idea; could really be cool stuff.

While I'm excited I still find it reaaaally hard not to be pessimistic about this new show. Especially when I was just complaining to my friends how Fairy Tail's animation is/was bordering on mediocre. -_- And they can't just do away with Conan, don't they?

I'm just slightly worried about the Conan aspect, not exactly because it's Conan, but because the explanations from Conan's side of view may as well be that KID is actually magic with all the sense they make sometimes and if that's carried over .

Eri Kitamura as Akako should be a good fit, and I haven't seen anything Mao is in so no opinion on Aoko, but Miyano Mamoru as Hakuba... Sorry, but I can't take that casting seriously.

Agreed. Never liked him in Death Note or most of his other roles, but his work in Steins Gate was incredible.

From what roles of his I've been exposed to, I think he doesn't really convey his characters' emotions to the right degree. Especially anger--I feel like he's conveying irritation even when he should be portraying sheer rage.

...and then there's the fact that he sort of sounds like he's speaking with his nose pinched shut all the time.
