I’ll teach you this old song so you can sing along

Re: What's on your mind?
Just throwing my opinion:
Everybody can say a lot of good things OR bad things from their own country. It's yours. However, I think it is a bit unfair to say something against a country you've only seen or heard about. We are brought up differently, culture to culture. Sometimes we cannot fully understand the ways other people deal with their lives, but that doesn't automatically mean it's bad. Since we are in a multicultural forum, various issues would rise up once in a while that will divide us. Let's just remember, we live differently, our times are different, our viewpoints are different. Let's just remember this one big word. RESPECT.

I think Aqua's indicating that they don't have "gay propaganda" (by that I assume they mean that they do not discuss or explain homosexuality at all, certainly not in schools, and probably even ban its discussion in schools like Section 28) because it's considered dangerous or corrupting to children. It's the old homophobic cry of "think of the children!" which really doesn't account to the trauma and confusion that's commonly inflicted on non-heterosexual youths trying to figure out what's "wrong" with them.PhoenixTears wrote:I honestly have no idea what this means.Aquahorse wrote: Gay not so freely, we don't have gay propaganda because of fear to underage of adult... Re: What's on your mind?
Russia has much beautiful nature, forests especially, and interesting rare animals, it's a pity that there is much abuse by mafia/oligarch businessmen who destroy the nature and hunt rare animals for fun. In Europe the nature protection laws are stronger I think, but unfortunately there isn't much left if compared to earlier times. In Italy, for example, I read most of the woods were already cut during the times of the Roman empire, except for the mountain ones.
Are there forests in Holland? I read much of the territory is made of bonified sea or swamps, what's the today's landscape, is it only meadows or woods also?

I've yet to discover milk that was as nice as ours... We tend to process milk only my pasteurising it, so it has softer and... clearer (?) taste. What I don't like about most foreign milk is the way it's sterilised. A great deal of the milk's taste is ruined by it :V.
And meadows? We do have those, along with several heather fields that are protected by the Nationale Natuurmonumenten (National Naturemonuments), an organisation that buys and protects most of Hollands Nature still remaining. Of course we have a lot of old and used farm fields, with tulips in the spring that look amazing and water's pretty much everywhere. Even though we are mostly road we have quite a lot of green around, even though the green is mostly planted by man.
As to the water and sea. A lot of the country is below water level, so we depend on our dykes a lot. If they'd no longer hold I'd quite literally be flooded. Bye bye house. Otherwise it's pretty nice to live here, especially near the green and the water.

Re: What's on your mind?
Children often get this stuff better than adults because they don't have to UNlearn set-in prejudices against gay relationships. It's also extremely important for children to know that these relationships exist and that they're okay because puberty can be hellish enough without getting confused because you're attracted to somebody that you're not "supposed" to be attracted to and you think there's something wrong with you.PhoenixTears wrote:I thought it might be this. At lot of time, better than adults, since their brains work in much simpler ways. They don't have to try and justify anything.)

I'm sorry Yuri, I can't take you seriously, you said previously that you had the best cheese in the world. I can't accept that, I don't think we'll ever get along because of that...Yuri Iwamoto wrote:I've yet to discover milk that was as nice as ours... French milk is nice. The "fresh" milk they have in Britain tastes of fat...
that's the milk we have: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultra-high ... processing
Jd: the food you have is also concerning for most Europeans, we sometimes hear stories in France about Americans not wanting our cheese because it has mouldy bits, but it's controlled mould (yeah we...care about cheese), while your society lets genetically modified vegetables for consumption, dangerous colourants, adding sugar to EVERYTHING...

Re: What's on your mind?
Speaking of nature again, I remember watching a documentary about an island (in northern Canada I think) about an expedition to study a white bear (not a polar bear, but albino black bears). What amazed me is that the bears were friendly to humans and weren't careful at all to go near them, but NOT because they were used to them and given food by them, but because the territory was so isolated that the bear population had absolutely no contact with humans and simply developed no instinct that would indicate the human as something to fear or to attack. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the island.
I really like animals and nature, even in computer games I usually choose a druid or ranger character that can interact with animals and avoid fighting against them

Apparently, when the first McDonald's opened in the UK, people were outraged by the lack of proper silverware or napkins available to eat with... XP

Hmmm. I've had few samples of Dutch milk before. I think that it's one of the best tasting. For cheese, Italian cheese for me.
@Aqua, what made you say that USA doesn't care, as far as I know, it's not the obligation of the nation to force a diet or style of living on someone, and it's not like McDonalds is the only available food source there. It's a choice. While the health sector wants to promote healthy lifestyle, you just can't prevent people from eating the way they like.

I generally try to avoid milky products of any kind, because adult humans don't need to eat that sort of stuff in the first place.
Purely guessing. One of said computer games is Neverwinter Nights?Mario2000 wrote: I really like animals and nature, even in computer games I usually choose a druid or ranger character that can interact with animals and avoid fighting against them
