Speaking of which Future Boy Conan is considered a Miyazaki work, right? Is it worth watching? What is it even about?

I think it's definitely worth watching. It's my favorite Miyazaki's work after Totoro. The animation might be a little simpler since it's 1978, but still a good anime in my opinion. The story starts on a sort of post-apocalyptic Earth and features the adventures of this boy Conan after his grandfather who raised him on an island is killed and his friend he met shortly before that is kidnapped. It's better if I don't spoil the further plot but, as I said, I think it's really well done and leaves a good emotional impact (in a positive sense) and offers an interesting adventure plot.
