My hope and prayer (and that of half the fandom) is that Capaldi has a powerful inability to take Moffat's shite and will have a positive effect on the show.
I can't find any sources for any of the stuff being claimed tbh. I might have another look later, but right now it's looking a bit like the normal rumours blown out of proportion.

Me: ...I'm sorry to hear that, sir.
May be there need to be a thread for your daily adventures with creepy/weird tourists :P
I actually save up these stories for a sequel to a comedy skit collection I once did for drama society called "Shit Tourists Say". The "Explaining Stamps" skit always kills people if the two actors involved have their delivery down.
Spoiler:
RYAN: Can I have some stamps, please?
COURTNEY: Of course. These international postcard stamps come in strips of five for four pounds thirty five.
RYAN: Can I get two stamps?
COURTNEY: No, sir. They come in strips of five.
RYAN: I can’t get two?
COURTNEY: No, sir. They are five for four pounds thirty five.
RYAN: How much are they?
COURTNEY: Four pounds thirty five, sir.
RYAN: Can I use them for letters?
COURTNEY: No, sir. They are international postcard stamps.
RYAN: Oh. Do they go to other countries?
COURTNEY: They go anywhere on planet earth, sir.
RYAN: Yes, but do they go to Switzerland?
COURTNEY: I knew Switzerland was independent, but…

Watched Princess Mononoke a few days ago and I absolutely loved it.
I actually find it interesting that I had close to no clue what the movie was going to be about, considering it's been around for about 20 years (well, I knew about San and that she had wolves with her, but beyond that, nothing).

The first time I ever saw that movie was in second-year English... and because I'd been off ill the day before, I came in halfway through the movie with no idea what we were watching or why we were watching it (to this day I haven't the faintest idea why we were watching Princess Mononoke in English.) Despite having missed half the movie, I still really loved it and I think I more or less got what was going on... I still love that movie a lot.

Well, in 5th and 6th grade during English class (3rd and 4th year of English) our teacher made us watch E. T. and Aladdin. Then again, it was nearing the end of the school year, so maybe she just ran out of stuff to teach.

I just watched a document about cats' daily lives in a little village in England called Shamley Greens. I loved it.

I watched several movies completely irrelevant to class during the four times in a school year the teachers don't expect much of anyone to actually come to class: the day before Thanksgiving break, the day before Winter break, the last day before Spring Break (usually Good Friday in the K-12 years), and the point at the end of the school year where nothing gets taught since standardized tests and finals are already done with.

...and then there were the "Crap, I'm supposed to sub this class since the teacher got sick but I don't have any of the materials for the lesson! Quick, to the library to get a random movie to occupy the kids instead!" occasions. :-X
