Anyways when I read this file I couldn't help but smile. And that smile hasn't disappearead yet. What's more I got some ideas to the newest chapter of my fic. I gotta go to write it up!

I don't know if this was discussed (as I didn't take the time to read all this thread) but Amuro thinks that Akai meant "Who besides him(Conan) would have thought that it would come to this?"... but isn't this a little too much of admiration from Akai? After all Akai is around Conan's lvl when it comes to analying things, deducing and whatnot. He does know Conan is smart and acknowledges him but for me Akai=Conan even maybe > by a little. I mean the sentence could also have meant "Who'd have thought the plan turned out this well" because it wasn't sure at 100% the fake death plan would work, right?

Also, Amuro may not be part of the Secret Police but Lei Wulong, a character from the Tekken series is part of the Police (not the SP) and since his name is Lei which sounds as Rei=Zero.... well, just saying. ^^

I have a feeling that has been part of Conan's plan all along. Amuro feels discredited because Akai showed up with the FBI and the Okiya in front of him has few suspicious elements (except the hidden cameras and a few behaviors) which is completely against the theory he had about Conan faking Shuuichi's death and leaving the rest of the FBI in the dark. If Amuro can remain calm and resist the urge to go after Backseat Shuuichi, he could figure out he is being played and that he still has leverage over Conan who is involved with the FBI.

While Conan has sort of gotten himself off the hook by having Shuuichi deliberately show his face to the BO while with the FBI, Kir is still in trouble. Something must be done about her. It would be pretty insane if Conan could find a way to convince the BO that she was tricked by Shuuichi too. It would be damn hard though, especially if the opponent prefers to be overly cautious.

Anyway, wouldn’t Akai’s appearance count the same as the one on the Bell Tree Express? As in, they only just barely saw him (and the ones who did are random unnamed low ranks), if Amuro didn’t report his appearance on the BTE to the Org, would he report something his underlings told him?

It is kind of a complicated matter but I could see it going well for Kir even without any particular follow-up plan… so long as Akai doesn’t show himself again.

"Who would have thought the plan turned out this well" could of course have been an option. However, I believe chances of "Who ... except him" are drastically higher. In the current chapter, Akai said "Everything is going as planned... by that boy." (translated by Fujiwara on page 33 of this thread) So even if Akai didn't aknowledge Conan in front of Kir, he certainly does in front of Jodie and Camel.

I'm not really a critical thinker so this is just my innocent guess, but what if what if what if it's the other way around? What if the one in the car with Jodie and Camel is Yuusaku and the Okiya with Bourbon is the real Akai?

Yusaku doesn't know the FBI like that and he has no mask for changing his voice there/conan to talk through with Shuiichis voice...

The Akai in the car shows familiarity with Camel as shown from the way he communicates the plan with so few words, ie. the plan is likely something they've worked out at a previous time (maybe the Kir return plan?)
