And I think that it's possible that Renya Karasuma created the BO, then died 50 years ago and since his death anokata try to rise him from the dead, he could be the mother crow and lost his children when he passed away.

But it's only a theory.

And I am still thinking that Taii is the cat of the Itakura diary. So maybe the owner of the mysterious cat was the Boss, and when she heard the cat, she hang up the phone because she knew that he was coming.

But it's only speculation.

I don't have any theory of who boss is but if we look logically at this then the boss should be elder man or woman. Do you remember the Night Baron case and those two elder people (man and woman). I was thinking that he is the boss and this elder woman was vermouth in disguise and this elder man (sorry can't remember their names) could also be in disguise and what he said about these high school girls at the end could be only part of his disguise. However, I would like to boss be somebody who really will shock us, for example Yusaku, Ayumi or Mitshuiko who gets shrunk, some of policemen or policewomen or James Black or even Kogoro Mouri. I know all of them are less likely or even completely impossible to be the boss but it would be more interesting than some random character that we saw once or twice or if we did not see him at all but just his name somewhere. I also think it could interesting if Shiho and Akemi's mom or dad would be the boss but then again it's illogical for them to be the boss.

By the way, this is somewhat unrelated, but I was looking at one of my posts and something occurred to me: if the boss is always so careful, why didn't he change his phone number after Ai left? When Conan first realized the phone number and discussed with Agasa whether they should ask Takagi to look for it, it's implied Ai might have known the phone number all along. If that's the case, then why didn't he change it? Sherry was a rogue agent. Knowing how careful the boss usually is, you'd think he'd change it, even if he were absolutely confident could trace any attempts to ID it. Gin describes him as being careful to a fault... Is there some reason for him to NOT change it? Or did it just slip Gosho's mind? Just a thought, though I don't know how much it would help speculation.

More on-topic, if the organization's name could identify the boss, then why would he use that name? This, combined with the apparent age of the organization, suggests to me that Anokata is possibly the CEO of an old family-run corporation (named for the family), which in turn acts as a front for the BO. This would also provide an opportunity for the boss's name to appear: just reference a product made by his company, or just its name in general. This has probably been suggested before, though.

That's a pretty good point. Maybe Gosho really wanted to use this button press sound trick so he let it slide, the same way that Gin doesn't question how Kir knows Akai's cellphone number when he forced her to call. (Or if Gin knew Akai's cell number why Akai never changed it...)

Or maybe the boss is the kind of person, who if the phone number is traced, would not be considered a suspect becaue it is too ridiculous? Maybe the boss looks like a seven year old child Nanatsu no ko or something like that...

It has been suggested. Gosho is a fan of name puns, so it is possible the Org's name is a pun on the boss's name.

If the Boss is a child:

1- Gosho Aoyama is a genuis
2- DC is definitively the best manga ever
3 Everyone will be surprise, so nobody will care if it's a random character

The Boss can't be a recurrent character because he will notice Conan immediately or Conan/the reader will notice him. If he appeared he have to be related to Conan in one way or an another. And the boss is very intelligent.

I strongly believe Akai Shuuichi is Anokata.

There are some scenes that make him look suspicious.

Don't remember that but anyway.. What makes you think Anokata would be on the bad side though? He/she could just as well be walking around as one of the inspectors

I think they meant Akai's alignment is good—as in, he's a good guy. Even if Anokata were to be an inspector, his overall alignment would be bad. The guy orders murders on a regular basis.

...Though the idea of him being an inspector is an interesting angle. It would serve as a bit of a contrast to Akai: Akai's a good guy who masqueraded as a bad guy (infiltrating the BO), while Anokata would be a bad guy masquerading as a good guy.

Personaly, I think the boss is not a recurrent character. It's very plausible that he does not appear yet or maybe just in one case (volume 35-1 : sharon's husband).
And if anokata is a child (it would be awesome) nobody will care if he is a new character.

Also, don't forget the Gundam references throughout the series. Aoyama is clearly a Gundam fan and if Akai is based off of Char Aznable, there is a big chance he is Anokata.

If he is the boss, why did he ordered to kill kogoro and then save him? Why he faked his death and then approve Bourbon's mission? Why did he save Sherry from bourbon?
If he was anokata, why did he shoot his favorite? Why his favorite escaped from him? He can't send a message to vermouth in front of jodie.
