The combined Fairy Tail team was really predictable xD but it's good, I guess.

A lot of stuff is about to go down now. This arc is getting interesting.

I guess my only complaint about both FT's ultimate team and ST's team is that both have only one girl, but then again, it is shonen.

Edit: @new chapter
Okay, this was a funny twist XD

When seeing the two Ichiyas, Erza´s expression is priceless.

And dam, things are getting heavier: the evil presence which Jellal senses every year, the guard who wants to use the 13 keys, Zeref who seems to be near,. And now the dragons are on the move. (wow, wanna see the Dragon king)

*there´s one thing that has been bugging me, and just now I´ve finally searched for it: during Pandemonium, each monster killed counted as 1 point for the guild, but Erza didn´t get 100 points. Have I missed sth?*

See, that was my initial impression as well based on the translation, but I guess it was the translator's fault for being either misleading about it, or horribly wrong in the translation. The thing the competition was probably about was that whoever kills the most monsters gets the first place; the one who kills the second to most monsters gets the second place, etc. And the amount of points each place gets is the usual like any event regardless of their killing count.
If that's however not the case, then I don't understand it either.

Wiki goes with what you wrote:
In this game, the participants are made to enter a temple one at a time. Inside the temple are 100 monsters of different strength levels.[25]

The participant in the temple can choose to take on any number of the 100 monsters at a time, but must defeat them all if they wish to continue.[26]

If they do defeat them, the number they overcame will be added to their event score.[26]

Should they fall in their fight, they will be removed from the event with the score they have earned up until that point.[27]

The participants have no control over which level of monster they face, as the generation of the monsters is random, and must choose the number of monsters they wish to face with this in mind.[26]

The game ends when either all participants run out of Magic power, or all the monsters are defeated.[26]
But then again, they just take this information from the translated file.

the score for the event was independent from the points gained from your rank in the event.

Even better: The reactions of the audience through the whole battle^^

Ok so Sting and Lector were "Oh we are third generation, Fairy Tail you suck, we actually kiled dragons" but they are using their last resort without even injuring Natsu or Gajeel.
I actually really liked the chapter, but I thought the Dragon Slayers from Sabertooth would be stronger and the match would be more even from the beginning.

So, if Natsu and Gajeel can´t go into Dragonforce, I think they don´t stand a chance.

*it just came to me today that Mirajane is not in the team D: Of course, the obvious team is this one, but it´s still sad.*

So.....this seems to be like a generic shonen boss fight so far. It seems like next chapter we're gonna get a flashback or an inner monologue from Sting or Lector. Dunno how I'd feel about it cause I there hasn't been much focus on Sting to make me feel I should even care about him (though that flashback/monologue might have something to do with the plot. If there actually will be a flashback or monologue. I'm merely speculating.)

Lector is an Exceed. Rogue is the dragon slayer.
So, if Natsu and Gajeel can´t go into Dragonforce, I think they don´t stand a chance.
This is shonen where there are deus ex machinas and instant power-ups for both villains and protagonists (in the time of need). Natsu can always go to his inner monologues or flashback and recall or think something that will motivate him enough to win. The fact that those two have an ability that Natsu and Gajeel don't have is hardly an indication regarding the results.

This chapter was surprisingly predictable after reading the previous ones. I'm hoping for something more unexpected in the next chapter.

I felt like Sting's dragon slaying magic is weird.

what about it? Pretty much seems exactly what I'd expect out of the "light" half of a "light and shadow" duo :P

I don't know why I should care about Sting's past or promise to Lector. There hasn't been any focus about Sting aside from his will to defeat Natsu. That's so far his only trait, so throwing a flashback that only explains his motivation for defeating Natsu doesn't really have any impact at all. In fact it just makes him even more one dimensional.
And Dragon Force appears to be totally useless (at least when not used by the main character) and Natsu and Gajeel easily shove it aside and can keep on (this time without even having an inner monologue). Now Natsu pushes Gajeel away and decides to take on the two of them by himself (after all we simply must have all the focus only on Natsu).
All of it wouldn't have bothered me so much if not for the fact that this fight was hyped by the writer since the current arc has begun.

yeah, but at the same time, One Piece's first post-timeskip arc was sorta the same, so I can't really complain much.

Also, I'm sort of hoping that the random cart that popped up is due to them smashing through the stadium floor and finding an area related to the bad guys' operations, so that Gajeel's just gonna end up randomly in the middle of the bad guys' base of operations in a cart.
