Yeah, pretty much what I think too.
I think that Haibara was actually let in on the plan, and she talked to Kid from the other room. Conan said she'd be instructing Kid on page 15, and I don't think he had any reason to lie at the time. I was just commenting on how I thought it amazing that she was able to fall asleep later, though like you said, maybe she really was just that exhausted or was pretending.

Re: Discussion Thread: Detective Conan Files 818+ "Mystery Train"
This whole plan was a bit too relying on a third party being involved (this time Kid), though his involvement was foreshadowed pretty well (though the foreshadowing made it too obvious). So now the question is whether or not Gosho is planning to continue with the story line or we're going to have another bunch of cases not related.
Since kaito left the train, one of the passengers was therefore missing. Dunno if it'd be important for the police to look more into.
Either way, it kinda seems like Kid is going to be involved now whether we like it or not. Now Vermouth wonders about Kaito Kid.
My only complaint is that Yukiko has sadly become a "conflict solver". Then again, I guess Yukiko's repeated involvement is because once again, the major thing here was based on disguises.
I also can't really take Bourbon too seriously since so far he didn't really succeed in anything. Not to mention his exposition on his background in this file. "I'm going to tell you everything about me because I'm so sure of myself and I'm confident my plan will work perfectly and nothing will foil it"
Oh, right. Chekhov's theory - spot on.

Lately... did anyone else find it a bit funny that the B.O. had their guns pointing at their targets but never fired? lol

Lately? When did the B.O. lately appear besides this case?
And Bourbon never had any intention to shoot in the first place.

Bourbon did suffer a massive villainous FAIL here. Let me dive into lengthy explanations of myself and my plan, let me trust my partner 100%, let me not be cautious.
Wow, Bourbon. You sure look like a great detective here.
...Well, I think we should cut them some slack, though. No one expects the Spanish Inquisition Kaito Kid to just come and help your foe out with their plan. It's like, if I were either of them and someone told me "oh by the way, they have Kaito Kid in on the plan", I'd tell them "yeah sure, and I'm the Queen of England". It's pretty much inconceivable unless you know they're acquaintances. And that Kaito somehow "owes" Conan one.
I suppose Kaito might get curious, but unless the whole Pandora ordeal gets solved then I don't know much about him teaming up with Conan against the BO. It seems like Kaito is now expecting a favor from Conan. I can imagine it already: "Oh, kiddo, remember that time in the train? Well you owe me one. So just let me break this jewel because it shines funny against the moonlight, OK?".

In an evil secret organization, we've had to have one of those eventually.El Huesudo II wrote: Bourbon did suffer a massive villainous FAIL here. Let me dive into lengthy explanations of myself and my plan, let me trust my partner 100%, let me not be cautious.

No one expected, though, that Ran would come out of the car either (episode 345). After this case, Vermouth should start acknowledging that there will always be a third party interfering and getting in her way. So in other words, if we had Heiji, Yukiko, Ran and Kaito, next time she should expect Kogoro to ruin the plan (what? he should have a moment of glory as well)El Huesudo II wrote: ...Well, I think we should cut them some slack, though. Kogoro will play his part soon, I have no doubt about that.

I doubt the Magic Kaito plot would ever cross with the Detective Conan plot. The Pandora Jewel is too illogical for DC and would just be an unnecessary addition to what we already have. If Kaito joins the DC plot, I hope it'd would be because of his involvement in this case and not because of things that have nothing to do with this manga.El Huesudo II wrote: I suppose Kaito might get curious, but unless the whole Pandora ordeal gets solved then I don't know much about him teaming up with Conan against the BO. I also was not too surprised about the revelations in this arc because I read the supported theories at Detective Conan World WAY before this arc.
I was, however, uber surprised not necessarily that he appeared in this arc (because it was obviously foreshadowed...), but that This last file has fully convinced me that he will play a huge part in the main storyline, though I'm not quite sure what he'll do. My theory is...
Anyways, overall I enjoyed this arc. Though admittedly I did pretty much ignore the murder because I was focused on that main plot... :-X

Who knows? Maybe it'll turn out that the Pandora Jewel is nothing but a legend and everything bad that has happened to Kaito is based upon the assumption that it's real.Kor wrote:I doubt the Magic Kaito plot would ever cross with the Detective Conan plot. Maybe the BO is trying to make the Pandora Tears real through science.
Maybe that'd explain Vermouth's non-aging.
Maybe I'm wishing for too much.

You're not alone there. For years (I forgot how long) I've been wishing that Kaito KID would help Shinichi-Conan destroy the B.O. and here the first step has taken place (I hope)Maybe I'm wishing for too much.

Hey, you all wait there!
There is an important point: Conan has been shown on the newspaper alongside KID, this mean that, if Vermouth open her mouth about KID's involvment, Conan and co will be inmediatly exposed.
This means Vermouth can't tell the thruth about what happened. Now the question is: How will Vermouth explain to Gin and Anokata how Sherry is not dead?

Why would she want to tell that Sherry is not dead? If Bourbon tells everyone that Sherry is dead, they'll stop searching for her. If they stop searching for her, Vermouth doesn't need to worry anymore about them finding about Haibara.
The whole reason why Vermouth wanted to kill Sherry in this case was because she didn't want the truth to be found out.
