Besides the answer "eworm" would make sense only if the riddle was a bit different:

SSTIMSON: What is stupid and doesn't listen to what people say - and by the way it's not a newspaper?
EWORM: A newspaper!
KIDSHERLOCK: Are you stupid, eworm? Why don't you listen to what people say?
SSTIMSON: Correct, kidSherlock, it's "eworm"!

Nice Eworm! By the way on your answer. I believe that white is a color. Black being the absence of color might not be and the riddle said maybe white but black was in there. So is the absence of color it self a color?

Eworm became the answer as he was the next person to answer newspaper, when I just said it is not.
Normally someone like that gets beated up and so becomes black ( though more likely purple) bruises and red blood with maybe white skin  after all it was possible that other skins colors might have answered "a newspaper"

But as I am friendly, I just found a painter and send them back to bring you back to normal.

Still In a way both of you are right Eworm it might be a bad joke riddle, and Kidsherlock the answer did become eworm because he was the next person to say " a newspaper" when I said it was not a newspaper. Just be glad Eworm, you are not like that poor penguin

Mr C runs a dry cleaner. The state comes in and even though there are violations all over the place, it passes. Why?

I don't know anything about colors , but i'm sure that WHITE is the absence of color , not the other way around. Because when i was a kid (younger than i am right now) i just mix all the finger paint and it turns into black, and i can't do that to white.(meaning, i can't mix colors to make them white)

as for the riddle

it has many violations because Mr C runs a DRY cleaner
and because SEA is a body of water
it makes the DRY cleaner WET.
And because that was only a joke ,
the dry cleaner passes

Well I said what I did because if you break up white light you get the rainbow effect. Black as in darkness can not as I know it be broken up.

By the way nice try but not the answer I thinking of. The Key word is dry

I checked the most knowledgable book i have (THE INTERNET!!!)
and found out that i was wrong
and that White is the mixture of all primary colors;
as Black is the absence of color.

You take white - it contains all the other colors in itself. So you take those colors and put them together. And lo and behold! What you get is the exact opposite of what you expected - black. Isn't it mysterious? 8)

In this situation, Mr.C made a lot of violation (meaning it has a low grade)
but still passes (because ,as i've said and as everyone knows, C is still a passing grade even though its low)

When the inspectors came, the place was spot-less?
When they pointed out the violations, Mr. C got steamed?
When they pointed out the violations, Mr. C tux some money in their pockets?

Sorry if some of these are falling flat, but I'm just clean out of ideas...
