Just a small riddle inbetween while waiting for a more complex one 
An man walks into a pub and sits down right at the bar.
He orders a glass of water.
The barkeeper turns his back to him only to quickly turn around again with a rifle in his hands.
He shoots at the guest, but he just misses the mans head.
The guest however, pays for the water plus tips and leaves the pub.
Why?

I was curious to see if someone would solve my riddle fast, so I saw your answer right away and tried to solve your puzzle before telling you that you'd been right about my riddle^^.
