Also I got another idea for a short and likely too easy Mini Mystery

This happens in a bank. Unlike other business there is a lot of intercompany dating going on like two tellers dating each other, supervisor dating the CFO, the bank guard dating the President's niece Etc.

Anyway one day when the bank guard goes to open the Bank vault, he finds the President is dead inside the vault.

The Police are called and investigate. They find it to be murder.

Who did it and how was it done?

It you want you can ask questions and if they do not give the game away, I will answer them
Spoiler:
You have already been told what the right birthstone is and I have already told you that the transition of seasons theory was right. I really shouldn't have to explain anything else but I will: you only need to know basic Japanese to understand the last part. There are many translation websites out there that you can use so just find one and get back to me when you've figured out the rest.
Spoiler:
I just wanted to clarify that the last part means the heist date, the last thing that has to be solved, not the last part of the riddle.

Just To give you an idea how lost I am on this last part I translated Reply 1775,  1777, and 1780 into Japanese.

(Edit) Whole reply is not yet showing in Japanese working on that (/Edit)

Without more of a hint I will be stuck here.Translate what to Japanese and remove something to get what you are after.
Examples Name of Months, Name of seasons, Names of Birthstones, KIDS note. Please give me a bone. Thanks

Logical The Date might be on the date when Spring becomes Summer.
That would be Either June 1, June 20 or June21.
June 1 is Meteorological Day and would be my third choice
June 20 is the Summer Solstice in Leap Years

Riddle Announcement!

A detailed explanation of the correct answer to the riddle will be posted sometime this week or the next. I'll give explanations as to why an answer was correct or incorrect to the best of my abilities. Because Sstimson didn't answer all the necessary parts of the answer at once I'm giving everyone else one more change to answer this if they want to. I'm wanting to post this on a few other DCTP forums threads because one: I want to give as many people the opportunity to solve this and two: as an incentive to bring more people to this thread. I'm making the text for all past right and wrong answers transparent just in case.

  Sstimson, the spoiler box thing goes for everyone. Kogoro himself stated it as part of this thread's rules that answers must be given in spoiler tags. In fact it is stated twice.
Spoiler:
So actually I don't think I should have excepted any answers you gave that were not placed in spoiler caps. I now wish I had the presence of mind when the answers were first given to have denied your answers. Now I do have the presence of mind to do so this time and I still will not state if the answer is right or wrong.

I will go into detail why an answer was wrong but I have to do each in a separate post. I simply can't fit everything into one post. I am going ahead with posting the riddle's solution and am going to go into detail about the answer. The explanations as to why an answer was wrong is not going to be posted all at once. I've done Kogoro's already as he only gave one easy to explain answer and still am dissecting Sstimson's answers. Please be patient!

All three versions of the riddle

The first version
Spoiler: The Riddle
  Nakamori-keibu and the Kaitou Kid task force are in for a challenge that is both unique and unusual. Instead of Kid's usual practice of sending his heist note to its designated targets first, he's sent the heist note to the Kaitou Kid Task Force before he's even announced it to his target. It's uncertain why Kid has chosen to send his heist note to the Task Force first before his intended target, which hasn't even the slightest idea that there's even a heist in the first place. However, Nakamori-keibu has deemed that whatever the reason may be as unimportant, for now that is, because deciphering the heist note has precedence over what could just the obnoxious thief being a brat. When Nakamori-keibu and his task force started to look over the heist note they first noticed one thing that is different from almost all of Kid's previous heist notes in the past: this heist note doesn't state any specific target. So not only did they have to figure out the time and the date of the heist, they also had to figure out what Kid was even after.
The note read as such:

I seek change during the last moment I may catch my breath before escaping the approaching fire beneath water's protective embrace. It is one of the three that is a section of the twelve. Seek not tradition but that of modern days. My candle has begun to melt so its light has begun to fade from its brightest.
Spoiler: The Hints
So far Nakamori-keibu and his men have only figured this much out:

1.The stone Kid seeks likely has no title as none was given in the heist note.
2.The stone is either associated with a sign of the zodiac or is likely a birthstone.
Spoiler: What must be answered
Now you must answer this:

1.What kind of stone is Kid seeking?
2.What day will the heist take place? The answer must read Month/Day/Day of the week.

When the birthstone chart was added

      One of Nakamori-keibu's men walks in carrying a cardboard box containing a 2011 calender, a Japanese dictionary, books on gem stones, mythology reference books, Kaitou Kid case files and a lunar cycle chart as is standard for solving Kid's heist note. One portion of the Kid task force works on deciphering the heist note while the rest are either on the phone or scouring the internet in order to find out which gems were currently on display.

Spoiler: What must be answered
Now you must answer this:

1.What kind of stone is Kid seeking?
2.What day will the heist take place? The answer must read Month/Day/Day of the week.
Spoiler: The Explanation
First let's break the riddle down in order to sort what what parts have to do with the target and which have to do with the heist's date.

I seek change during the last moment I may catch my breath before escaping the approaching fire beneath water's protective embrace. It is one of the three that is a section of the twelve. Seek not tradition but that of modern days. My candle has begun to melt so its light has begun to fade from its brightest.

Target
I seek change
Seek not tradition but that of modern days.
Date
during the last moment I may catch my breath before escaping the approaching fire beneath water's protective embrace.
It is one of the three that is a section of the twelve.
My candle has begun to melt so its light has begun to fade from its brightest.

Next, let's see what each of these can have to do with birthstones or astrological signs.
during the last moment I may catch my breath before escaping the approaching fire beneath water's protective embrace.
Breath= Air, water and fire.

Approaching fire means that water comes before fire.

Ok, now I shall list the signs in order with its associated element:

Aries= Fire
Taurus= Earth
Gemini= Air
Cancer= Water
Leo= Fire
Virgo= Earth
Libra= Air
Scorpio= Water
Sagittarius= Fire
Capricorn= Earth
Aquarius= Air
Pisces= Water
Notice the pattern? Fire, Earth, Air and Water.

Because earth isn't used in the riddle we can exclude earth aligned astrological signs leaving us with.

Aries= Fire
Gemini= Air
Cancer= Water
Leo= Fire
Libra= Air
Scorpio= Water
Sagittarius= Fire
Aquarius= Air
Pisces= Water

The order of the elements in the riddle is Air, Water and Fire

Gemini= Air
Cancer= Water
Leo= Fire

Libra= Air
Scorpio= Water
Sagittarius= Fire

Aquarius= Air
Pisces= Water
Aries= Fire

Now back to the riddle:
during the last moment I may catch my breath before escaping the approaching fire beneath water's protective embrace.
“Catch my breathâ€

Oi, is the thread dead? I've just become a university student, so I have really little time on my hands but for this place to go all quiet and lifeless? You can't be serious!

Questions:
1. Are the police right about the fact it was a murder?
2. Did the Pres died from lack of oxygen?
3. Was the Pres stabbed?
4. Was the Pres strangled to death?
5. Was the Pres shot?
6. Was the Pres popular with the women?
7. Was the Pres supposed to (or did he think he would) meet someone around/in the vault?

People, come back!

Got A problem, some of your answers are on the mark and others are still looking for in left field.

#1 is safe, Yes the police is right about this being a murder.
2,3,4,5 it isa one of these is all I say about that
6,7 all you get is a maybe

Sorry as this is so easy and in theory all you need is right in front, that if I answer those question any better, I will give you the answer.

Well, my first guess is that some woman working in the bank charmed the President and lured him into meeting her in the vault or at least nearby. When he came, she and her true lover, an accomplice, pushed him into the vault, locked inside and so he died, because of the lack of oxygen. That male accomplice was probably the bank guard who found the body.
