Out of those, I think #1 would be better. Also, seeing as the BO suffers more getting drunk, if a police officer receives the bottle, maybe they get suspended, just like as a failed arrest attempt. It would damage more the town, making less unbalanced the BO-receiving-bottle:Town-receiving-bottle ratio.
I like your idea...I'm thinking the bottle should go til Night 5 or 6 too...

It shoud depend on the number of players... numbers of players divided by 3 minus one = numbers of Days till the bottle is emptied?
Also, even if the police gets suspended, he will still pass the bottle normally on that phase.

What about inactives? Will they keep the bottle till they send the action for passing it?

I had a question after last round about detention. I know detain is supposed to work like arrest, but I thought maybe we could change that somehow so that detention doesn't make the BO permanently lose their APTX if used on a poisoner during thd day. Since being able to detain someone different each day and make the BO lose several APTX without actually figuring out the crimes and making an arrest seems OP'd to me.

I don't think the poison should work if the poisoner gets detained, since that would defeat the point of detention, or just be "returned," since that would let the BO know it was detain and not arrest. But I thought maybe the APTX could be returned to the BO if/when the poisoner was released from the detention (since at that point the BO would know it was detention anyway).

Just a suggestion. :P

I think we should change the timing of detention in general (if we want to keep it at all). It is not like Satô has to depend on that ability, she is pretty good even without its current OPness.
Like suggested before, I think that detention should happen AFTER all other actions (including lynch votes). That way you won't lose your results of the night (or day) action, it can not be abused to work like a heal (by detaining someone... like for example planed for Xpon last game which the BO only avoided by using bribe after losing their last killing action on him already) or frighten.
It also solves what happens if a temporary disguiser uses it (nothing) instead of what it does currently (superdiscombobulate + saving from any kill except of bribe and quickshot).

Yeah sure, the detained person then likely knows what happened to him/her already, but does a detained player really need more punishment? He/she will already lose the next 2 phases...

I actually don't like the fact you'd know it was detention/over arrest.

That is one of the reasons Satou tends to get poisoned in MM and the same with FM cause after they are released they now know someone with detention is in the game.

If the poison is given back, it's like hey let's go see how fast it takes us to find Satou.

So no, I don't plan to change detention and I actually like it's sort of a protection for kills too. If you detain the person supposed to be killed...

Also pofa, the BO will be getting a normal non-use APTX in their stock. So if they lose 1 due to arrest they can try to kill 1 person.

@Yurikochan: I'm not playing this round ( :( ) so I don't have a stake in this, but my idea wouldn't give the poison back to the BO until after they'd already been released from detention, so not until they knew they'd been detained and not arrested anyway. :P Until then, they wouldn't know the difference (ie, they wouldn't get notified that they'd get the poison back or not), so they wouldn't find out about Satou any sooner or differently than under the current rules.

I'm considering it...but the town won't be rewarded for a correct detention either...so I'm trying to look at both sides...

Well see, the way I see it is Detention buys the town time to find a way to get rid of that BO they're detaining more permanently. Same thing here isn't it? Buys the townie some time from poisoning and possibly finding another BO. And it's not like the APTX doesn't get confiscated at all. The next day phase the BO will usually still be one short.

Usually, if a BO that uses APTX and is arrested normally will loose the APTX (whether it was correct or not)

So I'm for the idea that a detained BO that was using APTX will fail the APTXing but "take the APTX with him to prison", meaning once that BO is released, he'll have that APTX with him :V


@bottle: What if I'll hog the bottle all for myself? Meaning I won't pass it to someone else? Will the Bottle affect me again? Or will it be stuck at my place FOOOOOOOOOREEEEEEEVEEEEEEEEEEERRRZ~?

I'm planning to add that change with the APTX. I was still a fan of getting it confiscated though, but I don't want the Detained BO to know he still has it til he's released.

Plus the stock APTX is one time use. Which I think is fair for a stock and I'm too nice.


@Kleene: About bottle, yes every phase you have the bottle will affect you. Aside from the first night since a BO starts out with it and the BO leader/second leader can send in his actions. Unless I understood Con-chan wrong.

Yeah, I think this would be the easiest way to get what we want (the BO not losing the APTX upon detention) without adding too much extra rules.
Though, in this case maybe we should work out again when lawsuit can be used by BO members. Having Anokata use it with his killing action just to get the poison back (and get the BO lynched the next day without giving him much chances to do anything) or making Irish save up his Eri disguise just to retrieve the poison might be bad side-effects of the rule.
On the other hand it is not so far-fetched that the BO considers their secrets (the APTX) more important than their own members. It just shouldn't make confiscating APTX be so dependent if the BO has lawsuit or not...

Well, it sounds that as long as you have the bottle you will lose all of your abilities... doesn't sound that thrilling to me.
