I was really shocked about that amount of answers.
I live in Munich, Germany and have never witnessed anything like that. The only case in my area I know of was a murder in the Arabellapark Subway Station. An old man (76) was attacked by two youths (18, 20) for remembering them that smoking is prohibited in subway stations.
If I remember right, he was almost killed and has to use a wheelchair now.
This case started a discussion about juvenile criminal law in Germany as well, since the culprits had already been sentenced many times (in smaller cases, of course), so it was all over the media.
I was the victim of a robbery once... Here's the story... It was something like 4:45 am, I would go to my school to hear mass - Catholic Mass during Xmas season (Simbang Gabi)... Someone followed me while I was walking (public transpo during that time of the day is so rare so I had to walk my way)... Then this person asked me for the time, I was so stupid I took out my cellphone... I really felt there's something strange going on but I didn't trust my instinct and continued walking... Then suddenly in a dark corner of the sidewalk, I felt some kind of pointed object and he asked for my cellphone... I gave it right away cause I don't wanna to bleed badly so I didn't put much of a fight...
As for murder, only in news... I haven't seen one in real action...
