Mafia Round 25: What Will You Do For A Will? (BO Wins)

It just means you need to get a lead early

I tend to have trouble finding leads early.

The whole rule looks like it would lend more to the BO than to balance, because it essentially forces people to vote who ordinarily might not (due to lack of evidence/leads) This will probably lead to more 'random townie lynchings'. Also it makes it easier for the BO to take out a townie in a lynch and still hide, arguing that the name was the result of an RNG.

If we are not allowed to submit a "no vote" WITHOUT being punished for it, then I think I'll sit this round out.

well we dont know how many BO akonyl gave us.

with 25 player, 8 bo is normal ( player divided by 3 rounded down )
while on my round or using my rules the Bo will be 6 ( player divided by 4 rounded down )

then if Akonyl used my rules.. and gave us 6 BO instead of normal 8 then we will have extra room for 4 wrong lynched that we normally dont have!

25 player with 8 bo means the BO need to kill only 9 people to win
25 player with 6 bo means the BO need to kill only 13 people to win

Well.. if you want to sit out from this .. it is up to you! because i believe all others player is excite for this new rules!

you're allowed to submit a no-vote, but just realize that it means that for the next day you'll be involuntarily submitting a no-vote as well.

in a game with 20+ players as opposed to the number that plays in MM, people are bound to vote even with this rule in place. As for that leading to more townie lynchings, it may, but in the round I GMed last, I seem to remember most of the tie votes being caused by not enough townies voting, and saving a BO in the process. Up to you whether you want to stay in the game, though.

So, reading through the rules:

1. Irish: Observe: Adult

Did Temporary Disguise change and he will always appear as ab adult? Would make sense if he and Yukiko could only disguise as adults I guess...


2. Injury

So, injured players can recover from their injuries now?


3. Bribe - Crime

Will the bribing killer be able to use their new benefit they get when killing their target? (Like "Insult to Injury", etc.)


4. Bribe
- Calvados may also choose to cover anybody he isn't allied with at night. However, if he does so, he doesn't get to use their ability, although (for example) "Calvados protects Shinichi" will still return a true result.  [/b]

I am not sure what this is supposed to mean? Can Calvados cover Schillok (Ayumi) and say "I want to protect Kleene (Ran)". Or would it only work on abilities that the target really has? If it does, will he be noticed that he tried something impossible? Would Gin notice if he investigated "Calavados protecting Kleene" if Schillok can protect?

5. Confuse - Crime

So in the worst (best) case, a BO will kill one of their own members?
Also, can the new target become the player itself? (Ran protecting Ran?)
How about arrests and house-searches? Will they change targets? Will the police player be punished for it?
And of course: KID and Vermouth, both disguise as Yamamura and confuse each other. What happens?


6. Bone Breaking

It says it protects against snipe, but snipe does not exist anymore. Does it stop both Headshot and Quickshot now? Or only Headshot?


7 .DB Investigate

Can't be used twice in a row, even if Mitsuhiko is the only DB remaining?
Otherwise, those subtle differences on the DBs abilities seem interesting.


Detention

Eww, detention is still super-discombobufrightenprotect. Sure, making the user be unable to use their other abilities makes it a bit weaker but it is still too strong to leave it the way it is. How about the detain only works after the phase is over, so the target gets all their night action results and can still be killed at that time? (Yeah, that means that the target knows it was Detain but usually they should know anyway.)

1) Disguises should always get you observed as the disguise, so I'll change that
2) Where was this mentioned? Unless I left something in by accident, the only way people should be able to be "temporarily" injured is if a cop arrests a sniper.
3) They're still assigned to do the killing, so they should be able to.
4) Cover still works as cover, however it's investigated as him protecting the person he covered. So, if Calvados covers Schillok(Ayumi), anyone investigating "Calvados protects Schillok" will get a true result, Calvados doesn't get to actually declare a separate protection target. However, if Calvados covers someone who isn't in the BO in this manner, he obviously can't cover their actual ability. To clarify more: If Calvados covers Gin to slander someone, "Calvados protects Gin" will still come up true, as the "keyword" of Cover is protect (just like heal/first aid are the same keyword, etc), and he will be able to slander someone with the ability he covered. Calvados can also cover people outside of the BO if he wants to pretend to be a protector, but he won't actually be able to use their ability.
5) Following Pokemon rules: It's possible to hurt yourself in your confusion, so yes it can. (although, Ran can't protect herself as it's impossible). Arrests cannot be discombobulated, so they cannot be confused, and house searches can be discombobbed, so they can be. As for house searches suspending the officer- yeah, Yamamura's a jerk like that. As for double Yamamuras: He can't be discombobulated so I'll add in that he can't be confused, either.
6) By snipe, I mean Headshot and Quickshot, I'll put that in.
7) If Mitsuhiko's alone, he should be able to use it twice in a row, I'll clarify that.
8) I would hope that the detainer would be less eager to detain someone if it meant discombobulating themselves and giving the BO an easy bribe-killing target, but I'll think about it and see if I feel like changing it before the prep phase starts.
