Many characters in the series could be called 'Defective Detectives'.  There's only one character that fits the right answer.

  The answer is Haibara Ai - you didn't mention her when talking about the Detective Boys but she is a part of them too, isn't she? Also she doesn't act like a detective, even making fun of Conan for being such a know-it-all, but sometimes she uses her scientist's mind and experience to help a lot. It was her who took the role of the main detective for a while during the Kirin's Horn case, too. And let's not forget the Karuta cards case either!
  And her name - invented with the help of professor Agasa - was created from a fictional detective's name! A pun!
