right, and the first one has 6 rows of 4, which would technically work but the question has exactly 5.

Another hint, if you need it:

all 5 rows use the exact same spacing for the trees.

you have 10 trees to plant: How can you plant them so that you have 5 straight rows of 4 trees?

Over time, the trees will produce seeds, which will fall and land in-between the gaps in the trees.  Eventually, new trees will grow, making five rows of at least four trees.    Yeah, I'm stumped..  That's the best I could come up with.

and before anyone thinks it matters: No, the fact that they're trees doesn't matter, they could be stones, dots, pegs, etc. :V

I first came up with this.
