No more deductions, people!  :)  The riddle has been solved!!
I knew I should have made it more difficult. The Brain-Frying Riddle #3 is going to be much more difficult.
Spoiler: THE WINNER
And the winner is...  8-) Ankor! 8-) Congratulations!
The riddle again...
Spoiler: B-F RIDDLE #2
Riddle #02
I heavily advice to read the previous riddle and the answer to it, before getting to this one. First - it may come in handy. Two - as it's the continuation, there are spoilers for the first riddle ahead. Also expect some red herrings again - unimportant info.
Professor Kentaro Akihisa's funeral was almost there and so his son, Akito, along with some friends were packing his belongings. It was to be decided later what to do with them. Each of them was assigned to a different room, Akito working in the biggest one, where his father had worked. All the rooms were connected to a hallway and had no connection between themselves, so when one of Akito's friend were going to him to ask "What to do with this thing?" or something, they didn't go through any of the rooms the others were working in.

Guess who arrived after some time? Yes, Akito's fellow ex-assistants, Mariya Yuki and Tsukamoto Keiko. When it finally stopped raining they decided to come to help - and knowing more or less what to do with prof's documents and papers, they worked in the same room as Akito. The atmosphere was kinda uncomfortable though - Keiko had heard detective Takagi's deduction and Akito knew about it. Yuki seemed to have fun watching them totally embarrassed. Finally she whispered "Good luck" to Keiko and left the room saying she had left something in her car.

The two were left alone. Akito was already opening his mouth when Keiko made an excuse too and left. She checked on everybody and exchanged a few words with each of Akito's friends before going outside. There she met with Yuki, who scolded her for being such a coward. After talking a while they both returned to Akito - only to find him unconscious on the floor, bleeding. He was shot from a close distance, the weapon left at the scene. The gun had a silencer but no fingerprints were found. The window was open. Yuki alarmed everybody while Keiko called an ambulance and police.

Luckily, Akito survived and is now in stable condition in a hospital. He remains unconscious so he can't tell what he wanted to say by leaving a message - he painted a symbol with his blood. It looked like a zigzag, something similar to this -> /\/\/. Akito also tightly held the paper he had taken from his father's body, the one with "Tsukamoto Keiko" written on it.

Here's what we know about Akito's three friends:

  1. Tanaka Shirou (male) - a long time friend of Akito. He's an electrician. Despite being an adult, he still watches some anime, his favourite being Meitantei Conan of course. Also, he's a good cook.
  2. Anegasaki Ryouko (female) - Akito's osananajimi*. She used to be a nurse but now she's just a shop clerk. Even though she tends to be broke all the time, Ryouko is always very cheerful. She's kind of a tomboy and loves hiking.
  3. Yoshimizu Outa (male) - not very sociable, "the dark type". He was professor Kentaro's assistant before but resigned and that's how Keiko got the job. Outa likes fishing, reading sci-fi and he smokes an awful lot.

Detective Takagi deduces right away who shot Akito. He searches the person and finds a proof supporting his theory. Who did it, what did the message mean and what "proof" was it? PM me your answers, brave detectives!

*osananajimi - childhood friend. You know the type.
And here's the winner's deduction:
Spoiler: THE DEDUCTION
Ankor: Let's go through facts:
1) Akito was shot with a gun with silencer - that is not a thing one would occasionally have nor easily get, which means culprit was prepared to shot (or kill) the victim and only waited for a chance.
2) Akito had a paper from previous case in his hand which may lead to several possible conclusions:
 1. Akito helded tightly the paper he had when he was shot, so it has no meaning for the case
 2. It was message that the culprit is Tsukamoto Keiko
 3. Akito wanted to reference previous case, meaning that culprit has something to do with it. Possible suspects:
   a) Yoshimizu Outa - previous professor's assistant - something related to his work as an assistant.
   b) Mariya Yuki - one of the suspects of previous case
 4. It was left by culprit as "he" wanted to frame Keiko
   a) culprit knew that she was the last to see Akito
   b) culprit did it out of jealousy that Akito loved Keiko
3) The zigzag. I have only three theories what it could mean:
 1. It is reference to electricity which means that culprit is Tanaka Shirou
 2. he tried to write Mariya in english but was not able to complete it
 3. it is reference to Anegasaki Ryouko who likes hiking.

With everything said my deduction is:
The culprit is Mariya Yuki.
She liked Akito, but as he preferred Keiko, so Yuki tried to kill him out of jealousy, while framing Keiko.
For that purpose Yuki pretended to go to a car, but instead hid in the hallway, waiting for Keiko to leave the room (Yuki knew Keiko's character and predicted that she would cowardly leave  :)).
After Keiko went to other rooms Yuki came to big room and asked Akito to show her the paper from the previous case. When he did so she shot him and went out of the window  to support legend that she went to car leaving the weapon behind.

So:
Culprit - Yuki
Message - zigzag - try to write Yuki's name, paper - deliberately left by Yuki to frame Keiko.
Proof - as Yuki had no time to go to change shoes to outdoor ones, she had gotten some mud left after the rain on here indoor shoes

eworm: Exactly right - except for one thing. Yuki didn't hide in the hallway but actually went outside. She took the gun from the car and shot Akito from outside, through the window she'd deliberately left ajar. But it's true - the proof is the mud on her shoes. Knowing Keiko, Yuki predicted she would leave Akito alone. The paper was actually Akito trying to point at the previous case's suspect. The /\/\/ is "MARIYA YUKI" Akito didn't manage to finish.
And before you start yelling - check the riddle once again. I never said the culprit was one of the three friends  ;D
I know you loved it and want more :) But now it's the winner's turn to post the riddle.

Is that really possible? Here why I question it:

When it finally stopped raining they decided to come to help. Would the culprit intentional leave a clue after being so carefull doing everything else? If that person is the culprit, then he left the following clues: Footprints under the window, MUD ON SHOES, Gun powder on their clothes and may on their gloves or hands. While someone might Had not hear 'purf' that the gun silenced, they should have heard the gun landing in the room.

But no one said anything about it. The culprit would not have had time to do much. As they were leaving the scene another was heading to meet them. And they would have been pretty clear guilty when they found the victim to that person. their should also be mud on the floor as well. Sorry but as I see it there is not enough time to commit the crime as suggested.

Re: Kogorous Riddle/Deduction Thread

I always welcome a logical argument.
following clues: Footprints under the window, MUD ON SHOES, Gun powder on their clothes and may on their gloves or hands.
The culprit could have used a handkerchief or something like that. And after the crime they could dispose of it in many ways. Nobody would be able to tell who it belonged to.
While someone might Had not hear 'purf' that the gun silenced, they should have heard the gun landing in the room.
The sounds of things falling on the floor isn't something unexpected when cleaning and searching a room for a things from ages ago. Why would anybody have made a notice of it? Especially if they were either busy or talking with Keiko.
The culprit would not have had time to do much. As they were leaving the scene another was heading to meet them. And they would have been pretty clear guilty when they found the victim to that person.
They knew Keiko well. They knew that after leaving Akito in embarrassment Keiko wouldn't run straight to them to get scolded for that. Especially after the words of encouragement. It was predictable that she would stop in other room/rooms and talk with others.
their should also be mud on the floor as well.
Isn't it normal to use a doormat before entering a house? Even more so if it's someone else's. The mud left on the shoes wasn't enough to leave traces on the floor.

Anything else?
