they could, but really there's no reason for them to. They already have sniping, and as has been previously mentioned, as far as having the snipers blend into the town all this does is put Chianti on Korn's level, and doesn't affect Korn at all.

True about the sniping, but I'm not sure what you mean about blending into the town. If FBI agents can have either ability and Chianti only has the "age" kind of observe, it would be harder for her to blend in than it for Korn now, since there would be no role that only had "age" observe.

But yeah, if Korn had both, he could pretend to be either FBI or police, but it wouldn't be a downgrade if he didn't; he'd just be on the same level he is now.

The deal currently goes:

Chianti: Observe
Camel/Jodie: Observe

Korn: Stake-out
Takagi/Chiba: Stake-out + Arrest

so while Chianti could perfectly disguise as the FBI, Korn couldn't perfectly disguise as a policeman ( "oh yeah? Well then get suspended to prove yourself! :V" )

By giving the FBI agents the option of Stake-out, it basically puts her on the same level as Korn, who already can't fake the arrest. It's not exactly the same though, because on the one hand, Chianti still has it better because Observe+Stake-Out both investigate as the same keyword, a luxury Korn doesn't have with Arrest. On the other hand, Korn has a better excuse to not use Arrest than Chianti does for not using Stake-Out.

and korn having both wouldn't solve the problem of disguising as the police, it'd just giv him someone else (the FBI) to disguise as.

Uhh... I thought the changes for the FBI agents (they can observe instead of stake-out) also was supposed to make the snipers stronger.
Because as I said, right now Chianti is a much better role for the BO than Korn. Giving both snipers the option to use either observe or stake-out would make the power of the BO less dependent on which sniper they get.

Not sure what you mean. Because they are children? It still means only Jodie and Camel would be able to find them.
If anything their role seems a bit underwhelming compared to most other townies, but I will wait until I played one of them to decide for myself.

Weren't you gunning for arrest suspensions not being announced anymore? Wouldn't that let Korn blend in a lot easier, in that case?

i mean that you have 1 or 2 trusted allies since night 1 and you can swap roles so less chance to poisoned!

Swap roles? How? Nobody will believe you if you say that you are "Genta" but are Mitsuhiko instead. And Ayumi had items that differentiate her from the two boys. The main danger is if the BO knows you are a DB, swapping their individual roles around won't help you.

Talking about the DB: I think they have not been in quite a lot games in a row now. Did the GMs exclude them by choice (because they felt they are too weak or for some other reason) or was it just chance?

Not sure what you mean. Because they are children? It still means only Jodie and Camel would be able to find them.
If anything their role seems a bit underwhelming compared to most other townies, but I will wait until I played one of them to decide for myself.

Seriously? Before, when Chianti, Korn and Calvados just could snipe people, there was the complain that there wasn't much of a difference between them. And after that when just Korn and Chianti were similar, people still complained that there was no difference whether the BO got Korn or Chianti...
Not people argue against that? O.o

I've been thinking of it, but I'm not 100% yet. If I make arrest suspensions not show up, then yeah I'd do something similar.

If I do do that, then I'll give them both observe/stake-out, and differentiate their sniping ability (like I was gonna do originally back when calvados was still a sniper :V) slightly to keep them different from eachother.
