Back at the glasses: I don't want Takagi to wear them because... he does not wear glasses. I think we should rather have him wear panties, because we can't be sure if he isn't doing that already secretly.
Back to being serious: What exactly is the problem with Chiba and Takagi having the same items? Why is there a need to balance there?
And I would rather have Sat^o get stake-out together with Chiba and give Takagi investigate back (or give Chiba back investigate) if that is really where the problem is. After all we know that Sat^o did stake-out before so it wouldn't be much less of a problem.

Giving satou stake out would be a "problem" for yumi. In case yumi get's her panties stolen. Or for satou having hers stolen. Because if the BO knows the info panties+the ability, then they'll get APTXed more easily :V
But item wise, you can still distinguish between satou and yumi. You can also do that for Camel and Jodie. BUT you can't do that with Takagi and Chiba. And now, that there is the criminal that is looking for a certain role, making it easier to differentiate between Chiba and Takagi with steal is reasonable.
And deleting car-keys for oen of them would result in having just 1 item for one of them. Which is already not liked by some people because Kogoro has it that way. But imo,, Kogoro can be a very dangerous role once he sobbers up. So him having just 1 item is ok.

I actually don't think there's a point to differentiating between Chiba and Takagi, either. Is it so bad to have a couple town roles you can't tell the difference between by stealing?

Though, to be fair, as long as Camel doesn't tell that he has Observe rather than Stake Out (even if you know he has an observe-type ability), you can't differentiate between him, Takagi or Chiba through stealing. They all have the same items, and the same ability key-word, it's just that Camel can't arrest.

But it was usually always like that: If there are different opinions about a rule, and both are kind of valid and reasonable and don't hurt the gameplay, the current GM has the last decision over it (since it's his/her round anyway).

@Schillok: It's not the distinguishing thing, thought I'm for that. The other rationale for it was that the BO member with stakeout (Korn) has much more of a difference in items with his corresponding town role than Chianti does with hers. Heiji only had alcohol once, and Hakuba often wears headgear. But for various game reasons they have/don't have those items. :l And as Kleene said, it's not like it has to be that way forever if the next GM disagrees. (Nakamori will probably get his other investigation back after this round too. )

@Kleene: Sorry about the time. I guess the Europeans/Asians get screwed when an American GMs.

That's why I haven't said much about it, in the end it's pofa's decision. Just thought I'd throw my opinion in.

@pofa: I think it's mostly Europeans. It's at least daytime for most of Asia, afaik.
