Because people who want to make interesting or thoughtful posts are in effect competing for space with spam and in-jokes. People are less likely to say something worthwhile if the discussion going on is void of meaningful content. I don't like how in opening 29, Ai's role is diminished to just being part of the detective boys. tis lame
