Music is meant for enjoyment, why then did we have to discover all the theory behind it? Did the great jazz players of the Bebop era truly want us to make up the logic behind what they play and make it so complicated? I doubt it. They played what they liked and had fun with (most of them at least). Once we're done with the jazz, are we going to make a whole bunch of theories about the Beatles too? Why can't we just think of music as music and have fun with it. (I also don't see the logic behind what people say "You should play and improvise just like Charlie Parker/Miles Davis/etc." why? I want to play like myself and improvise like myself. Why do it like they did and not how I want it? Well, that's one of the reasons I don't like jazz. Hopefully soon I won't have to play it anymore (that's maybe a wishful thinking though. I don't want to imagine how my teacher will react once I say that I'm tired of jazz mainly because of him...)

... I had such an epiphany while watching a movie the other day, but now I can't remember for the life of me what it was, or even what movie I was watching at the time. All I can think of right now is how much I love Toy Story 3, despite what a douche Woody can be at times.
