Killing the enemy is something the bad guys do. The police and FBI can't just kill people even when it's Gin. That would bring them into lots of trouble. And Gin never got the chance to double-check since the police came to Akai's car even before it exploded.

Eeeehhhh.... I don't think Shuichi would have minded too much if Gin hadn't jerked away at the last instant and had been shot through the eye instead of across the cheek... Disabling the rifle would be a neat cover story if he were really aiming for Gin's eye.

i myself like that theory if Okiya = Akai then we're just back to square one (and the FBI have already got Conan/Shinichi on their side, which is enough ) but if it turns out Okiya/Akai is the double-crosser who double-crosses the FBI, that would be awesomely exciting.

Yeah I think that it would be sooo interesting...
But somehow, if Gin and *let's say* Okiya aka Shuichi Akai aka Bourbon team up and actually work together, I wonder how Conan's gonna deal with it... Seriously...
If it happens, things may end up differently, LOL
