I always thought Conan was just joking when he said a Holmes fan can't be a bad guy?
Anyway, the movies, OVAs and anime originals got absolutely nothing to do with the actual story. I heard some people saying the 13th movie was different that way, but I think it's the same as with the other movies. Also many of the early episodes had some big changes from the manga. I don't remember exactly what, but I think some of it was with the BO.

but for those saying that Conan/Shinichi isn't stupid enough to let a random person into his house...
maybe he put him in there for surveillance ? Clues to lead to the organization , etc.
he takes daring chances , so it's quite possible .
although , as a fan, I want Okiya to be Akai too <3

I think this is likely the opposite of the Jodie/Vermouth thing, and Okiya will actually be Bourbon. However, I think the only difference will be that Okiya's true identity will be someone known but probably not Akai.

nonetheless, i'm hoping that Okiya will be a good guy!!!! I would really hate to want him defeated.
