Where Ai was sent to study as a child.

I guess she studied in a big city like Newyork,L.A or Chicago...I don't know where are the best schools for genious childern like Haibara...but I think she was in a boarding school for rich people...I guess BO have a lot of money so... 

anyway,as I already said before,it's not that surprising to be excluded by the others children when you are a little bit "different" from them,especially when you are half japanese half english...it wasn't really frequent in the past...

There is a possibility of a specific area, or more likely: Gosho tries way too hard to make her sympathetic.

Having some discrimination isn't the same thing as never being excepted by any human being for your whole life because you're Asian with tea colored hair. Maybe again if it were the past, but it's the 80-90's, if you ask me it wasn't because she was Asian but more because she was a nerd.

I guess because of that bad experience(and also because of the BO)she became more and more reserved and cold,and that's why she was alone when she grew up...

If it's a big city like NY that being suggested, one Asian kid is unlikely.

She brings up sitting alone at lunch even into her teens. While having said segregation problems could make her more reversed, there's no way she'd go through life for so long with no friends in her school.

Yes, crap is exactly what it was. Dunno, but Gosho tried sounding deep about love, but ..... Dunno...... it was like this chapter was all out of whack..... and Gosho randomly wanted a trip to London....
