Re: Gender?
For those interested about the Guys:girls ratio, check the forum stats.
index.php?action=stats
Apparently, the male:female ratio here is 1.2:1.

Still not accurate though, thriceplus wrote: Apparently, the male:female ratio here is 1.2:1.
that ratio only includes the people that decided to list their gender in their profile
Least that's how I think it works

started watching it on Adult Swim, and once removed from the lineup, turned to the internet to satisfy my addiction
Just a curious question about your name, do you just admire penguins in general? a fan of the hockey team? =DPenguinfan wrote: is a guy to lol. First found DC watching adult swim when I was younger, good times sneaking out of bed just to watch it.

I'm a girl.
Does studying in a all-girls school affect that, though.....
I discovered DC by taking the wrong book.

Re: Gender?
Female; I first got into the series through word-of-mouth in '04 and ultimately got into it a year later via Adult Swim and when a friend of mine bought me the first Case Closed volume. DC's still one of the few manga series that I still keep up with and consistently buy, actually. I've grown a deep attachment to it.

Re: Gender?
All it does is enforce the idea that you're female. Hence, being in an all-female school. =Pccppfan wrote: I'm a girl.

Re: Gender?
Female, though occasionally mistaken as a male.
The way I found out about Detective Conan is actually a pretty funny story. So, three years ago, I went to Tokyo, Japan for summer vacation. It was very fun. I went to Akihabara, watched the Pokemon movie, et cetera. Before this vacation, I tried to watch Case Closed on Adult Swim, but it was always too late. And I kind of judged the book by its cover by the bad animation style. And also, the bad dubbing. So, when I went to one of the stores in Tokyo (I don’t exactly remember where), we found this tin can. My dad and I decided to buy two as souvenirs. However, since I fail so hard, I didn’t realize at the time that those cookies were going to be of the most awesome series on Earth.
YES. They were Detective Conan cookies. I was supposed to eat some when we returned to the United States, but they were gone when I went to visit my dad. This still haunts me to this day. Until I get my Conan cookies, my soul shall never rest in peace!
However, my route to the actual manga was different. My friend’s sister liked the series, and he decided to loan me one of the volumes. I asked him for the first one, but he said that his sister loaned it to one of her friends. Instead, I got volume two. I got hooked instantly! Probably because Akemi is just that awesome.
Then I searched for the series online and found out it’s true name: Detective Conan. And then searched for where to read it online. The first site that I went to was mangavolume.com, and that’s where I read the first one hundred chapters. I thought the series was finished, but I was entirely wrong. I tried finding another website. My obsession drove me to the Knightus Linker (conan.thetrogdor.com).
I then caught up with everyone else in three days. I remember that many people back then believed that I was a male. I sometimes got pissed off at that and well, had to do some things to set things straight. I had to show pictures. Webcam. The usual.
And then came the Detective Conan roleplays. If anyone here remembers (though I do doubt it), I was the one who started the Detective Conan roleplaying trend at the former Knightus.
I guess that’s it for my story. ^^;
