Gender?

Post by shinichi55 »

Hello. This just randomly popped up in my head and now it's making me curious  :P
Are there more girls in this forum than guys, or is it the other way around?
I'm a girl, and I've loved DC ever since my brother showed it to me ;D
so what about you? how did you find out about DC? and what's your gender?
(I hope this doesn't sound stalkerish :P cause i'm just wondering)

I'm a girl.
I first heard about DC from friends, but I didn't really get into it until my then-boyfriend (now my husband) gave me the first few manga files (scanlations from Knightus' Conan Linker). I spent the next couple months reading through every file I could get hold of, and a friend of mine gave me the first 90 anime episodes (subbed) and movie 1 (subbed). I was completely hooked. I've always loved mysteries, though I'm not much good at solving them myself. I kept downloading the files from Knightus' Conan Linker (which has since become the manga page of DCTP) and got the anime episodes wherever I could find them. Now DCTP has everything I want all in one place, which is awesome, so I stay here. *^_^*
It is fun to get to know other DC fans.
I have finally started to actually publish my story! For the moment, expect a new chapter each month.

The Case of the Midnight Channel
"When a strange letter summons the Mouri family to Inaba, Ran is expecting a case. She's not expecting it to involve the TV, though.
If Naoto investigated everyone who came to visit Inaba, she'd have little time for real cases. When Yukiko reports that the Midnight Channel is back, however, she starts to wonder if the visitors are connected. Especially when the image clears, unveiling yet another mystery."

Short version: I'm taking various DC/MK characters to Inaba (where Persona 4 takes place) and dropping them through the TV to face their Shadows!

Woman =D Or girl. Something between maybe.

Someone in a Nintendo forum mentioned something weird called manga, and then someone else mentioned Detective Conan. Always loved mystery series like Sherlock Holmes, Poirot, Colombo, etc, so I had to try it out.

I'm a WOAHman.  DC was on adult swim and I was getting rather 'experienced' in animes so I gave it a go.

I'm a little girl. XDD
well, I just turned into a teenager a few months ago. :D

Detective Conan first aired here in our country when I was 4.
I became addicted to it, but suddenly, the airing of the episodes in TV stopped, without even revealing an ending.
We don't have internet yet, so, I'm not updated about DC for 6 years, but, I didn't forget DC 'cause it's airing again and again in TV but just repeating the exact episodes I watched when I was 4. that's why I'm not updated.
And then, when I was 10, we already have a broadband internet. I became a bit updated about DC, learning about Haibara, etc. I also discovered this site when it was called at that time "knightus conan linker" before we lost our internet so I wrote the link in a sheet of paper, and memorized it. We lost our broadband internet at that year, also, 'cause I'm getting addicted to internet and not on my studies.

Then internet came back. I found this site which is called at that time conanthetrogdor.com, and then I spent my whole summer last year reading from the start of the manga to make sure I didn't forget anything, and now I'm much more addicted in DC than when I was before, and updated, of course.

that's my story. pretty long, huh? xD

By the way, in an old DC forums I used to be in before, there was some guy who discovered Conan because a volume fell on his head in a shop. And since it got a bit ruined he got it for free.
Wish I discovered my favorite series because one of the books fell on my head  XD

hahaha that sounds great (or straight out of a TERRIBLE manga, which sounds like irony or something)

I'm a guy.

I'm a girl.

How I discovered DC...
Spoiler:
I discovered Detective Conan because of my older sister. DC was shown around here on TV ever since 1998, and my sister got hooked up in the series first. She has always loved everything related to mysteries. I remember the first day I saw her watching it, I just sat next to her and started watching it too (you know, often little girls like to imitate and do everything their mothers and/or older sisters do... that's what I did). Anyway, I sat next to her and pretended to be interested and understanding everything (even though I couldn't understand the complexity of the tricks and stuff...), but just few days later, I got completely hooked up too and started watching it everyday her. Oh and, I still remember how we used to play detective games (with our dolls - lmao) and imagining stories and crimes... Ah, the old good times! Then they stopped showing it, few years later they started showing it again, and then stopped, etc. I couldn't rely on the stupid TV stations that keep showing and cancelling it, so I decided to look for it in the internet myself (I think it was in the summer of 2007). That's where I found Animea's website which had almost all the episodes, which led me to DCTP's website, and here I am today! The funny thing is, I'm now much more obsessed and advanced in the story than my sister, because she doesn't have enough time to watch DC (she can only do so when she has her mid-term holiday or during summer vacation). However, she's still a super-fan; it's actually the only anime she watches!

I'm a guy
discovered DC the same way as others,
started watching it on Adult Swim, and once removed from the lineup, turned to the internet to satisfy my addiction

Female here. I started liking DC when I watched Case Closed on CN. I started watching subs because my brain couldn't handle the dub.
