it's impossible for more BOs to make them more likely to lose, because those BOs don't need to necessarily be tied to the rest of em. Though I do agree that that's a bad way of doing things, as then it would probably just make shorter games that are decided on Day 3, which is never good times. if the BO needs to become stronger, it shouldn't be through numbers.Eve wrote: HAHAHA.... you cracked me upHow does having a more concentration of Bo among a large number of townies help? I can bet you anything that it will further decreases BO chances of winning
PO is a good idea if you're town, what I believe is town has 1. Number advantage, 2. Identity advantage which balanced out with BO 1. Less number among more 2. Trust among members
And Po tipped the scale significantly, from my point of view
Though I'm not gonna lie, once I saw my PO, and the name of the round I basically guessed we were done for from the start

Re: Mafia Round 14 - The town strikes back (Town Wins!)
Well, I did not expect to be able to prevent the BO from telling their PO to each other. I never intended it anyway.
The clause was just there to prevent the ones with the intrigues not having to admit what they try to do if they don't want to.
Beside, none of the POs really required them to "betray" their comrades. They just could have negative consequences on the PO of other members (Beastly, pofa), ignore orders (blurfbreg) or allow them to win with the town in case things are working in favor...
Well, I guess it is time to post the game logs, isn't it?

then why did you introduce it as a rule? Did you expect us to blatantly break the rule in the PMs that you told us to always also send to you? Why even make the rule then? >_>Schillok wrote: Well, I did not expect to be able to prevent the BO from telling their PO to each other. I never intended it anyway.

That's like saying the rule about "dead people aren't allowed to PM people in the game" is only there so that people can break it when they feel it's necessary.

@Eve: Shiny...
Is it just by keyword no matter who uses it, or does it take into account the types of things the individual players always say when they're town/BO?

Re: Mafia Round 14 - The town strikes back (Day 7)
Since some of the BOs PO made them traitors, the BO would have been forced to kill some of their own. They can use to that to better blend in, but if it's true what I've heard then 4 out of 8 BOs were traitors. You can't very well have them all lynched without forfeiting your chances of victory. And a bigger concentration of BOs should make it easier for them, even if it makes it more likely for some of them to be discovered.Eve wrote:pofa wrote:We couldn't or we failed them. And like I said, if we'd done it behind Schillok's back (like xpon and Yuriko did), we couldn't be sure we weren't telling a traitor who would rat on us to Schillok.Kleene Onigiri wrote:

I wanna ask how much everyone likes PO?Sorry Schillok but I totally pegged you for a biased GM XD b/c of the PO IdeaAkonyl wrote:if we'd been allowed to tell each other what our POs were, maybe it woulda been a bit better, but yeah. Also, if they're anything like xpon's (which was the bomb), they were mostly killing based, which combined with the restrictions on who kills what night would make fulfilling them pretty difficult.Eve wrote: Personally, I knew the POs were the hindrance for BO for sure![]()
1. I didn't think you guys would be allowed to tell the other your PO in the first place anyway, and personally, I think PO, since it would be given by the GM, it will be more or less affecting each side.
2. Leading to my point that BO, being their objective of the WHOLE game is to kill, and having to hold up a poker face, PO is not going to be an advantage considering their PO might as well will reveal them anyway. Town on the other hands have not much restriction on PO since their PO, even if it's a hindrance to their ability, they can still gain from it, and have no problem of completing POs without suspicions
3. The fact that players who traveled will be notify directly in the phase post? I don't get it? it should not have been that obvious?
4. xpon's way of playing is practically suicides for BO
In conclusion:
I'd rather the game stay originally with no POs, and back to vague hints, since there will be more town roles anyway, and PO is pretty one sided...
@ Kleene, ohhhh, yours and Dus, and James Rye came out as Undefined,![]()
How does this calculator of yours work, anyway?
I thought the POs were a genuinely good idea, if it wasn't for the balancing issues. Maybe there should have been a lot more BOs to make up for that? How does having a more concentration of Bo among a large number of townies help? I can bet you anything that it will further decreases BO chances of winning

And are you just using keywords from the thread, or from all over the forum or what? Because I doubt you should have had enough material by the end of night one to make such an accurate guess.
