And here I was thinking not to do anything about this.

Well as everyone knows I can't post blue-nii's stories at the moment, so I did a one-shot to compensate. Now, I'm not a very good writer myself, but I might as well try to prevent this thread from dying.

Of course, it will feature my harem *evil laugh* Here goes nothing:
Spoiler:
The moon is high and full and illuminates the small ferryboat, beating its way steadily along the creek.

"I see land, Shin," Alice says. "Is this the place?"

"Yes," answers Shin. "Why? Are you hungry now?"

"I'm hungry indeed."

A sly giggle. "Good."

Azu rows the boat right up to the shallows, then jumps out into dry land, and together with Alice, pulls the boat up onto the meager pebble beach.

"What is this place, Shin?" asks Azu.

"Sad East Creek," Shin answers.

"I swear, Shin-- you know every last place along this coast." Alice is impressed.

At that moment, Shin steps forward. Behind her is a wooden sign, flapping in the breeze.

WELCOME TO SAD EAST CREEK

"Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but memories," Azu reads the back of the sign. "Creepy."

"Come on," Shin says, smiling. "Let's not lose any more time." She begins trudging across the beach. She seems to know where she is going. The other two follows, struggling to keep up with the queen's lengthy strides. Something has caught her interest and they have learned that when that's the case, you just have to keep up the best you can and await further instructions.

So far-- all things considered-- events haven't gone too badly.

Shin is standing still. Is she waiting for them to catch up? How decent of her, thinks Azu. She doesn't usually exhibit such courtesies. She runs, together with Alice-- and feels water between her toes, thinking that her sandals weren't fit for their excursion tonight.

As they draw level with Shin they see that their queen is talking to someone-- in fact, two people. Two young men. At Alice and Azu's arrival, one of them looks over and laughs.

"Oh? Who are these lovely ladies?"

"These are my friends," Shin says. "Alice and Azu."

"How do you do," says Azu, giving a little bow.

"Well, you're a curious bunch and no mistake," the man responds, nudging his friend, who begins to chuckle.

"All right?" Alice says with a playful grin. "What are you two adorable gents doing out here at this hour?"

"Ain't it obvious?" answers the other man with a bored tone. "We're waiting for our ship to come in."

Shin smiles and points over her shoulder, back toward the ocean. "Maybe your ship has come in."

Azu sees something in that smile. The man misses it. Of course he does. But she has seen it before. It is a sign. The game is on.

"I can't see any ship," the man says, utterly oblivious to what is about to happen. "Just some third-rate rowing boat."

"Third rate?" Shin says, always quick to rise to anger. It will be down to Alice and Azu to handle the conversation. It is always down to them to handle the conversation.

"It's big enough to take two handsome men out on a moonlit voyage," Alice says. "Well, it is once we take the treasure chests out."

"Treasure chests? You mean you're rich?" asks the bored man, his interest suddenly heightened.

"We're rich, in fact, we're of royalty," Alice confirms rather proudly, only lately having acquired the title of princess. "We just escaped from the palace to breathe some fresh air. Of course, we can't take our own ships out."

"Let's see your palace then." They caught him. She can tell.

"No," Shin says, shaking her head.

"What the queen means," Azu interjects, "is that we'd much prefer to take you for a voyage first. While the water is so calm."

"It is calm, isn't it?" says the first man, stepping toward Azu and Alice.

"It's a small boat," Azu says, "but it's big enough if you squeeze in tight." She winks.

"We'll all keep nice and warm that way, won't we?" says Alice, taking the man's arm. She can feel him tremble. Azu then clings to his other arm.

"Come on, Prof," the man says, looking back over his shoulder. "I'll take these two and you can have Your Highness to yourself and we shall have a spin around the creek."

His friend, Prof, steps toward Shin. She smiles at him, her small mouth opening to reveal her sinister twin fangs. Prof gasps, suddenly sensing the danger that his friend has been blind to. Stunned by fear into silence, Prof allows Shin to propel him toward the boat.

The two girls get there first, removing the chests and throwing them onto the shingle. The man watches them, oblivious to Prof's alarm.

"I'm Shira," he says, "and this is my friend, Prof. Where is your palace, anyhow?"

"In Hell," Shin says, the terrified Prof's hand on her tight grip as they board the boat.

"Your Highness' a joker, isn't she?" Shira says to Azu as he pushes the boat free from the shingle into the water.

"Oh yes," Azu replies. "The queen has a good sense of humour."

...

The sound of two limp bodies falling overboard doesn't register much, out in a dark, deserted creek in the very depth of night. Now you see them, now you don't, as the molasses-like waters suck them down to their resting place. Down where they'd best let them lie. It doesn't pay to dwell on such things.

Back on the surface, a ferryboat floats in the moonlight.

"That went well," Alice says, licking her lips to draw the last drop of blood into her mouth.

"Yes, that was satisfying," agrees Azu.

"You two are learning fast." Shin says.

There they sit quietly, on top of the ferryboat, rocking gently on the oily waters of Sad East Creek. Another night, another little adventure. They gaze up the moon, watching as the globe of lightis smothered by smoky clouds.

Now there is no light to pierce the darkness of the night.
Please don't laugh. I lack imagination, I know.
