Forgive me, I'm not as active as I once was, and Ai+Conan thread seems to be exponentially growing so fast that I can't keep up with it.

And my days as a fervent AiConan shipper are long past, I'm not as energetic as I once was back in my prime as a shipper, you can find some of my older posts in this thread though around pages 31 onward to probably page 100 where i was most active.

Those were the days, James Rye, The Blind, bluekaitou, both soras, kirite... (forgive me if I forgot to mention someone's name, it's been quite a while)

I'm the same. I've calmed down a bit as well. I just want to watch more of the BO and finish the story. Though I'm still an AiCon fan. But the board goes so fast. Many pages ago, I had my arguments as well.

About the OP: I think the scene where Conan is heading towards the BO implies that he didn't tell Ai about his plans, but she knew all along, hence her hiding behind a lamppost(?)

Advantage of the Drug at least for Hairaba - Being more aware of what is going around you and what people you see will do then before Drug Usage

I sympathize with your feelings. My take on all of this is that humans generally have an massive instinctual drive to seek romantic relationships, and literature is all about drawing the reader into the story and creating characters readers can relate to and sympathize with. Inevitably these two things are going to mix and readers are going to have feelings about how the various fictional-characters-they-relate-to's love lives ought to be. Just like there are some people in real life who are highly involved in the relationship status of themselves and other people, there will be those who be highly involved in those of the fictional characters. (Those two populations are not necessarily the same people.) Add to that the fact these are fictional people, so normal social inhibitions about meddling with other's relationships don't apply, and that the discussion is on the internet (Penny arcade, warning bad language), then it is expected that some people will very aggressively proselytize their various shipping viewpoints in a ridiculously vocal manner.
My guess is that the majority of the DC universe likes aspects of both pairings simultaneously, really doesn't care, or weakly prefers one yet doesn't dislike the competing pairing - but these moderates get drowned out by extreme viewpoints that one is RIGHT and the other one is just plain wrong. Then it gets personal. As I am sure you guessed, it doesn't foster a good atmosphere for emotionally uninvolved constructive discussion. It also tends to spawn irritatingly long tangents in unrelated threads. Like the case discussions on the spoiler boards.
