Re: "Akai's return?" Arc Discussion and Poll
"Akai" can not be Bourbon because the BO believed that Akai (the real) was killed.

That's a nice idea, an effective way to sort out the impostor. However,Chekhov MacGuffin wrote: If Bourbon is "Akai," he'll need an excuse like amnesia for why he doesn't remember the details of the FBI, or else he will have to slip away before Jodie, James, and Camel get a chance to ask him any questions.
I think James, Jodie and Camel wouldn't interrogate Akai because he's been their close colleague all this time.

I wouldn't think the B.O. would accept Amnesia as enough to let Akai back into the B.O. They'd just probably kill him on sight. Then they'd either try to find out what Rena did to fool them and then kill her, or just kill her w/o any question.Chekhov MacGuffin wrote: If Bourbon is "Akai," he'll need an excuse like amnesia for why he doesn't remember the details of the FBI, or else he will have to slip away before Jodie, James, and Camel get a chance to ask him any questions.

Conan likes dressing up.
"Stop. Stop it, Ray. Even if you are facing the bitter aspect of life... Drugs and murder are foul without any excuse. Deserve a red card, for a loser."

"True, I was a cheater. A bad player, and I lost the game. I must be ejected... For both my late wife... And for a fan like you."

PS: Jodie's acting foolishly by keeping a secret from Conan and her colleagues.
I hope that will be a life lesson for her.

The current clues do point into him being an impostor but I think we need more information. The current clues can go both ways such as the real Akai pretending to be a fake because he just wants to talk to Jodie without arousing suspicion (and this does the job of confusing the viewer if he's the real one or not).Tenken wrote: 679 RAW: http://www.raw-paradise.com/Ritual/Chapitres/Conan679.zip

The only thing that I'm starting to dislike is that the story is going down the predicted path when they decided to magically make Jodie and Akai lovers. Now because they are "lovers", this creates a hole where Gosho can introduce the Ran effect into this scenario and by the looks of the end, it seems like he didn't waste any time. C'mon, life isn't a J-Drama

I think you're giving Jodie too much credit to attribute this to some magic romance effect. She kept it to herself when she became suspicious of Camel, and had already been made to look foolish several times before that.TheBlind wrote:The current clues do point into him being an impostor but I think we need more information. C'mon, life isn't a J-Drama, no FBI agent (in love or not) would keep the crucial information Jodie knows a secret from their superiors because she must make sure as a woman/lover. And on the other side, no superior would dismiss Jodie's claims because she was in love with the agent in question(could be a reason why Jodie doesn't want to say anything yet).

Re: "Akai's return?" Arc Discussion and Poll
The circumstances of the Camel case were extremely different to this one. In the Camel case, she was suspecting a fellow FBI member of being a mole during a coordinated attack by the Black Organization. All the FBI members were practically improvising on the spot to keep up with the B.O. "attack" and each member has a certain job to do to ensure the safety of everyone. So if Jodie went to James with a suspicion that Camel was a mole, that would launch an investigation which would waste time & man power during a situation where the both were a luxury. So Jodie keeping her suspicions to herself was completely logical. She also had another chance in the briefing(for the escape plan) but this again would waste time which could hurt the plan(B.O. catches on, a new driver has to be appointed to Camel's Van while he's being questioned/checked, etc.). Then there's the backlash in the form of casualties and the B.O. swiftly taking back Kir if Jodie's suspicion proved to be wrong and Camel wasn't a mole. So her confronting Camel herself was logical and fit with her FBI training while this new event does not.Nyarl wrote:I think you're giving Jodie too much credit to attribute this to some magic romance effect. Jodie had ample time to tell James/Camel/Conan about who she saw and nothing would be wasted. They could pursue her information and if it's proven to be false, there wouldn't be any backlash of any form. But by not telling them, all she does is open the door for Conan/Haibara to get blindsided along with the FBI and even give the B.O. a huge opening to cripple the FBI in Japan if this is a fake Akai that manages to get valuable intel. From any angle you look at it, her keeping this to herself just seems like she's being Akai's girlfriend first and FBI agent second. Hopefully like I said before(yeah I know I say a lot of things

Re: "Akai's return?" Arc Discussion and Poll
One huge problem with Camel being a mole. If the BO knew for a fact that the FBI basically set up a plan for Rena to return, Then why would they not think that Rena is indeed a Mole herself and a plant. Camel must have known about the return plan if he went so far as to fake his death to the BO. If the BO knew he faked it , Then they would act right? They would likely kill Rena after she 'killed' Akia as then she would no longer be of any use.
There is a small possible of knowing she is a plant and feeding her false info. If that is so then it is likely thank the new BO does not really exist.

Hypothetical: Someone close to Camel has been kidnapped by the Black Org., and are using said person as leverage.

Even if this is not the real Akai, we will see Bourbon sooner or later in either the manga or the anime, right? Because if I'm not mistaken there will be a showdown with Bourbon in movie 13... 8)

Akai is left-handed (look how he held the guns in earlier volumes)
Btw, is that FBI agent's name CAMEL or CARMEL ?
Well, "camel" is a cud-chewing mammal living in desert regions
Spelling error ?

It's Camel.
Some people either Kentaru, Nyarl or Shinichi1977 (they are the good theorists triumvirate XD) or Kosagi said that the name might not come from the "Camel" but from "cameleon". Kinda speaks for itself.

I think this Akai is either the real one or is Vermouth. If he is Bourbon, then Akai must be Bourbon, because there isn't a reason a BO member would save some kid (Unless, of course, that member is Vermouth, because she would save Conan). I just hope more is revealed soon.
