Well, I doubt that it is a joke, because he had mentioned my behaviour towards others in another thread too. Therefore, I believe that it is really bothering him. I rather clear up this issue before it gets out of control and in order to avoid creating any commotions or quarrels in the future.

You're right, he ain't joking, he is just not confortable with such a formal way of talking. (I would say no one in this Forum is,actually) Anyways, different ways of talking is to be expected in a place where people from all over the world may come. Unluckily for you, we are used to treat us in an unformal way while we point out flaws for everyone, as minimal as they are. This can be very contradicting for your manners, but still that's not an obstacle to get along well with another users, that's just a matter of time after getting to know each other.
