NIGHT THREE ENDS

By now the seeds of fear within the minds of the citizens were now in full bloom—roots of paranoia and horror were deeply ingrained into their minds, causing many to lock themselves within their own homes for the night. The few that did not allow this parasitic emotion to completely override their logic were up all night searching, digging, clawing at anything they could get to find the culprit of the murders that have so far occurred. They were careful to avoid the park, lest they became food for the ursine behemoths that claimed it as their temporary domain…

Such thoughts would be their downfall. While fear didn’t completely override their thinking, it still lingered about it like the foetor of death. So in-depth were they to uncovering the truth, so in-depth were they to avoid that one place… that they became vulnerable targets for the real demons that sought their blood…

Early in the morning, Inspector Tagamichi was called in to a crime scene at the docks. Upon arrival he approached one of the police officers that arrived earlier on the scene.

Inspector Tagamichi: Good lord… another dead body?

Police Officer: Unfortunately, Inspector. Satou(Schillok) was found dead by another officer while patrolling.

Inspector Tagamichi: We had better find whoever is up to these murders by the end of the week… Do we know the cause of death?

Police Officer: Not exactly… when the officer found her, they assumed they’d been poisoned, as they smelled almonds in her mouth. However when they glanced for any other injuries, the victim was wearing a hat that concealed a bullet wound…

Inspector Tagamichi: Do we know the type of bullet?

Police Officer: It looks like it might’ve been fired from a sniper rifle, but in case we’re incorrect we’re going to send the body to the coroner right now and the bullet to ballistics so they can properly determine…

While the inspector listened to the report, police placed Satou in a body bag and had it placed on a stretcher. Another officer on the scene found a tape-recorder that was hidden in her vest pocket. The officer, who had presented it to Inspector Tagamichi upon discovery, played it to see if it left any clues:

Looks like they got me in the end... but at least it should be confirmed now that Conia was arrested for murdering Abs.

It looks like a thief called "Akemi" caused some trouble the past days. I wonder if I arrested her by chance? But I doubt it. And likely there are other dangerous individuals still in the town.

Right now the person I trust most is Kleene Onigiri. I am... 99.5% sure she is on our side. So if I die and you need some help... ask her.
I am also very sure that Callid is really an investigator and if he puts his plan through tonight we will know for sure if he is police like he claims (or the person codenamed "Vermouth", disguising as one of us from the police. PhoenixTears was also very cooperative—tonight’s results should show if he is trustworthy.

Despite this dangerous game of trust, I hope slowly it becomes clear who can really be trusted and who is dangerous. Even if I die... I believe justice and truth will prevail in the end.

Suddenly, Inspector Tagamichi’s phone rang. It was his friend, Takabe… perhaps some good news despite this murder? He quickly answered whilst handing the tape recorder back.

Inspector Tagamichi: It’s Takeshi. What is it, Inspector Takabe?

Inspector Takabe: Looks like your luck is rubbing off on me. We managed to arrest Akonyl earlier.

Inspector Tagamichi: Good news indeed. Let’s hope this’ll end the murders…

The inspector, unfortunately, might not be quite right...
