Yea, that's why I was directing it toward the Live Action, not the manga. The Live Action look was based on the movie people, and Gosho approved of it.
I remember one episode, an early one, mentioned Ran having Venus in her birthday. But that was anime. Which was the reason they both could tie red yarn around their fingers...something like that. I'm trying to remember, it was a while back. Let me brush up on that...
yea, but her and Shinichi supposedly both have Venus in their make-up...and I remember her being a Libra...someone also said October 2 was her birthday, but it was from Wikipedia, so let me not move that along as fact just yet. But I know she has Venus, thus would probably be the basis for her look in the live action which was cute, adorable, pretty, best attribute being her butt, and they have chubby cheeks to give them a cute look.

If you're talking about Movie Canon then, then I believe Ran is a taurus (see screenshot in spoiler). The "red yarn" you're talking about only appears in Movie Canon. It's from the first movie- the movie that mentions Shinichi's birthday and says his favorite colour is red.
