seriously, does anyone believe Akai is dead?

I didn't believe he was dead the moment after he "died".

Of course I honestly thought this would lead to the introduction of ZOMBIE AKAI (fake or otherwise), so what do I know?

It just didn't seem like the way he would die, and since I already felt like he and Conan were planning something else... (ever since the scene where Conan, suddenly being more stupidly childish than he's ever been around the FBI, offers to call Agasa, and Akai very obviously grabs his phone. COME ON.)

What if ( again a thing happening off screen ) Kir was told to inject something into Akai before setting the timer. That something being a tracking device. As good as BO is I believe they would have had a plan in case of a faked death and planting a tracking device could be one part of it.

There conveniently was another person who died by being shot, plus had handled conan's phone - The hospital BO guy that conan and akai chased. His suicide gunshot was even in his head, like where the BO told kir to shoot akai.

But that does not answer my question. Is it possible for KIr to have injected Akai. I mean as I said before a bubble would kill for sure not possible questions, or just inject a tracking device to know where the body goes. Leaving everything else alone.

Except that's completely retarded. Attempting to cause a fatal air embolism has significantly less chance of success (Yes, I asked a medical doctor about air embolisms) and requires more time than shooting someone in the forehead. From the BO's perspective, why would Akai let Kir get close enough to inject him with a syringe of air anyway? What is she supposed to do in order to get close enough, pretend she wants to sleep with him? Abs., it's all you from here...
It's damn clear the BO didn't care about making Akai's death look like a suicide. On Gin's orders Kir, shot him twice and blew up his truck with plastic explosives. You couldn't make it look more like murder.

agree but I am talking after the shooting. Then the getting close part s not a problem.

Put it this way. What is happening here is a lot like what happened to Camel. He faked his death. and again Kir help by dropping the Bomb to blow up the truck they were in. Why would the BO allow this to happen again. Injecting something would help them. That injection after the shot but before planting the bomb, could make certain that Akai died. Even if they just injected a tracking device would help to show if they were fooled again. Sorry, if the BO TRULY wanted Akai dead, he be dead no question. Akai being alive require such a huge failure of the BO to be unbelievable. Why would they not go to any lengths to make sure he is without question dead? If they did not have her inject something into him before the bomb is asking for a MAJOR failure, the kind that could only be planned. But if that is the case why worry about Scar-Akai?
My basic point is this. If they really wanted Akai dead he be DEAD. You will say that is over kill, but they already did an over kill by shooting his head. Injecting him with somethig, granted maybe not a bubble, but a poison and even if the shoot were faked Akai would be completely dead. The only way he could be alive requires allowing him to be live.

This is a case of why did they not shoot, stab, cook, poison, flatten Akai before blowing him up?
