hmmm,after reading the manga,I think Conan imagine her as a goth loli because her persoality fits with the mentality of the goth loli in general(being pessimistic,watching horror movies...) and considering that most of the girls he knows are  pure and innocent he immediatly think about Ai,because she doesn't react as the "normal girls"...
I think conan is a bit narrow minded about women...

but of course he noticed all the time she wears a skirt...
