Pandas are the least racist animals. They're Black, White and Asian.

- The Chinese revere the panda which they call "large bear-cat."
- There are less than 1,000 pandas in the wild and just over 100 in captivity
- Pandas spend up to 16 hours eating

Pandas don't hibernate because they have to eat constantly, because bamboo shots have an incredibly low nutritional value.
Pandas have only one facial expression.
Once you turn 5 in the UK, you can drink alcohol if an adult buys it for you. You cannot drink in the pub though.
The national anthem is instrumental. A few years ago, they tried to add lyrics but the Spaniards felt that the proposed text was "too nationalistic".
Belgian brewereries are often not allowed to market their products as beer in Germany, because they tend to contain ingredients other than water, barley, and hops.
The triple point of water (where its three states are at an equilibrum) is 0.01 °C .
Tea leaves contain much more coffeine than coffee beans but coffee contains a lot more coffeine than tea.
There are two offical varieties of written Norwegian and a lot more inofficial ones. None of them are actually spoken anywhere in Norway.
Lenin reformed Russian spelling, abolishing several letters.
Slavic languages contain either /g/ or /h/ but hardly ever both phonemes.
Most people are at least bilingual.
The Amazonian language  Pirahã doesn't know the concept of numbers.
For a Russian, navy blue and sky blue are two completely different colours, the latter also being slang for gay. A similiar distinction exists in Polish, Italian, and Latin American Spanish.
The present lasts 3 seconds.
The South African national anthem contains all the official languages of the country.
In a higher altitude things taste sweeter. That's the reason tomato juice is so popular on air planes.
Dogs can't sweat.
Much like Chinese, Swedish and Norwegian are tonal languages, the only ones in Europe (afaik).
Fanny pack is a highly amusing term for a speaker of British English.
Gosho Aoyama is the most popular pedophile, potential murderer, arsehole and chauvinist in the entire world.
The soviet animation series Cheburashka from the year 1969 was dubbed into Japanese language in 2001 and an Anime version was made in 2006. The protagonists of the series are the only non-Conan-related cartoon characters one can see in Hokuei Town, the Detective Conan village
Wine-making probably originated in Georgia.
Last month, the Stalin statue in his Georgian home town Gori was torn down.
Hitler was a conscientious objector.
The Czech Republic has the highest per-capita consummation of beer of  all countries, followed by Germany and Austria.
Upper Franconia (Bavaria) has the highest density of breweries in the world.
Austria is the only country in the EU that is allowed to sell jams that are not made from citrus fruits as marmelade.
Khruschev gave the Crimea to the Ukraine as a gift in 1954, although almost 80% percent of its inhabitants are Russian.
I can't think of any more right now.

I think we do that also, and possible Denmark as well. When I was at my dads place we had currant marmalade from a company that was Danish. And I've seen other brands and flavours as well, although citrus fruit ones are more common, maybe.

Do you make a distinction between jams and marmelades in Swedish/Danish?
In German, marmelade is Marmelade and jam Konfitüre, but the latter term isn't really used in Austria or Bavaria. So jams have to be calles Konfitüre in Germany (including Bavaria) but not in Austria. There are also numerous other Austrian words for foodstuff and initially they had to use the terms used in Germany.

The Treaty Of Vorgota, signed in 1046, which allowed the inhabitants of Vorgota to take refuge in Lammersberg in case of war, was successfully invoked in both 1121 and 1338 when Drellfurt attacked Vorgota, but the refuge was denied in 1583, when Lammersberg itself attacked Vorgota.

From its inception in 931 until the Battle by the Vorgotahöhe in 1690, Senntiefe was always neutral and didn't participate in any war (and had no army until 1605).
If  ;), :D, ;D, ::), :P, :-X, :o or >:D are attached, that paragraph may not be 100% serious. Seriously.

Polio was on the verge of extinction in 2001, before a Muslim group spread the rumour that the vaccine that Unicef was delivering was a Western plot to poison Muslim babies, driving many parents to prevent Unicef from entering their towns or villages. Since then, Polio has flared up again, killing or mutilating thousands of children.
