You could just get the Japanese version for that :P

I never nicknamed my pokemon, I'm kinda lame at name thinking...

I sometimes give my Pokemon Japanese names, but generally not the original ones... Just stuff I make up XDXD I also named my Dialga "The Doctor" :P

Kangaskhan is a combination of "Kangaroo" (the belly pouch) and "Ghengis Khan" (vicious).

Tentacool and Tentacruel. Both start with Tentacle, both end in words with opposite meanings- cool (calm) and cruel (vicious). I lived and breathed Pokemon back in the day, I'm not running out any time soon! XDXD

Do we really need to do this for every Pokemon?  95% of them are either completely obvious or make no sense at all.  There are very few that are obscure but noticeable.

But it's fun :) Plus, some of the Pokemon had funky names before they were finalized in the English version. Vulpix was Foxfire; Clefairy was Aria and Clefable was Ariala; Paras was Parasyte; Diglett was Digda and Cubone was Orphon, poor thing :'(

Now I understand why Tentacool evolved in the early times of the anime xD

okey, what can you tell me about Datini Dragonair and Dragonite?
and Magnemite/Magneton/Magnezone (aside from the obvious magnet patern)

Still far away from that in SS, but in Silver he wasn't really strong, just high level.
