I think it can rotate all the way.

Also, Caterpie, Weedle and Wurmple move from caterpiller stages to metamorphosis stages, before becoming winged insects (Though bees don't have a caterpillar stage).

Fossil Pokemon resemble dinosaurs; Omanyte and Omastar are in the image of Nautilus (the prehistoric creature, not Captain nemo's ship), Kabuto and Kabutops resemble prehistoric shellfish, and Aerodactyl out to be obvious.

Vaporeon resembles a mermaid, and Lapras and Gyarados both resemble different interpretations of sea monsters and the Loch Ness monster. Golduck also is said to resemble a Kappa, a Japanese sea monster.

Pretty much. It is also fun to try looking for the meaning of the names. Just a few of a looong list: zuBAT,golBAT,croBAT. Ninetales (0% of originality ). Abra Kadabra Alakazam.

Zapdos= Zap (as in electric jolt), Dos (two)
Moltres= Molt (as in molten, by heat), Tres (three)

There are more clever tricks in the old names than the new, I feel. That might be just me.

Yeah, Miltank's speed and rollout KILLED me. Then I got a surfing Pikachu off of my Pokewalker, and it was faster. Surf's up XD

Also, Mew seems to be a mix between a cat and an embryo in appearance; Embryo to imply that it's the ancestor of all Pokemon, and cat... probably to do with its name.

well, some english names are better than the japanese names, umbreon is an example, but i usually nickname my pokemon after their japanese names, i nicknamed my dragonite "Kairyu" and my ampharos "Hikari"
